People aren't complaining because Vegeta is blurry. They're complaining because the color of the sky is way off.

Unless they're on Namek, FUNi's looks better.

I'll take the original colors instead of FUNimation's mess.

How do you know these aren't the original colors and the Japanese footage is modified?

:)

Vegeta fight at dusk FTW!

The background throughout these episodes is supposed to be dynamic. It slowly starts to get dark at their original location, so Goku and Vegeta move towards the horizon. It then slowly gets dark at their new location. By the end of the fight in episode 36, it's become dark out. Notice how there's a purple hue low on the horizon in these episodes...it should blend into a greenish dusk sky, not a brilliant blue mid-day sky.

Apparently FUNi believes this fight should have taken place at high noon.

Watch the recap about the season 1 fight in GT episode 55. Its shown as having a green sky there as well. We're basically saying this. One version is Green (DragonBox)... one is Blue (FUNIs)... which one is right? Can we get a third confirmation? Check GT ep 55. There's your confirmation.

After watch many other of the DragonBox releases, I'm convinced they have their colors right.

Check the widescreen shot, then ask yourself if Namek episodes have been released in widescreen.

The shot is when Vegeta is fighting Gohan in ep 34 I believe.

Either way, I'll take original anything over altered anything.

Yep, apparently people aren't watching episode RIGHT AFTER that one we are referncing and are missing the sun setting in episode 35:

Do we need to show the starry sky in episode 36?

Well, where do people turn to when they have questions about the series? The Daizenshuu books of course...

So, I looked in book #3 and all the screen shots from the Vegeta saga seem to have a blue sky...

(Sorry, camera phone shots)

But on the other hand, this shot below shows the same color sky in both versions. So I dont know whats up with anything anymore.

The colors are blue on the dragonbox too during the Nappa fight. The sun sets later on. Remember how the fight starts before 12? Remember how it turned night after Vegeta flew off?

Um... those screen shots are from when Vegeta and Nappa just arrive. And I believe the sky is blue in the DragonBox version. (I have downloaded DBox episodes of those, so I'll not post a bootleg image, but the bootleg images have the sky as being blue in episode 25 and 26... as they have green sky in the later eps.)

I'll let someone else post actual DragonBox images.

The only thing I can figure is FUNI's master actually has the color botched. I don't think they are altering it. Why would they? There isn't anything to be gained from changing the sky color and it just increases the cost of making the videos.

Someone has to post scans of the ani-manga to end this. Dum dum dum!

The flashback in the Bardock Special also has green sky. I'm wondering how it could have changed like that though. Only frame-by frame remastering would be able to change the color so much like that.

Maybe FUNimation's masters have just degraded too much throughout the 20 odd years of the show's existance. I don't see how that would change the sky color, but I'm just throwing shit out there. :P

Not really, playing with the RGB balance would yield such a change.
