Would you like to see TFS do an official dub?

I mean, obviously Schemmel is being tongue-in-cheek here, but let's say he was being serious here. If Funi did let TFS do the dub, would you be okay with it? I mean, personally I like the current Funi cast, but I feel like the TFS could do a good job under the guidance of Sabat's direction. It'd be an interesting experiment. What do you guys thinks?

I like the abridged but honestly, no. Hell no.

I think it could work, they've done serious very well when they do it and they all pretty talented, however I wouldn't want it to be the "dub", maybe an extra on DVD or something like that.

I do think it would be utterly hilarious if they let TFS dub the Cell Games reenactment thats shown in the Buu arc. Just let them all do their respective characters for the fun of it.

I love the abridged series. Not fond of Goku's voice... though it would fit Super's Goku, in all honesty.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

I do think MasakoX's Gokû would be right at home in Super. Super's Gokû reminds me more of MasakoX's than Schemmel's Gokû.

Who would voice Beerus and Whis though?

It would be fun to see them dub Dragon Ball seriously for a one off, and they have the talent to make a really good dub. They would obviously have to make different choices for a serious dub, but honestly eh, I dunno. If they'd do it, I'd watch it, and I'll probably enjoy it. But, honestly, I think they're more interested in just making their abridged series, and that's fine by me. Besides, we got a decent Dragon Ball dub now. So... -shrug-

What makes TFS great is that it's a parody of the franchise, having it be official and serious would take so much away from that.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Schemmel was annoyed because fans ask him all the time about DBZA on conventions.
Honestly, i like TFS, but i feel they've become really overrated over time. Fans religiously think that they are this masterpiece of a parody. And they're not even that funny since Freeza aka season 2.

Plenty of the TFS voice acting pool are either voice actors for other companies (BangZoom, New York) or for the Dallas pool (Gearbox, Funimation, Okratron). We've got plenty of talented, well rounded actors.

That being said, while I'd love for us to get a shot at auditioning for Super, I don't see too much coming from the conversation of, "How would an official dub from TFS sound?" Especially when we'd ultimately end up recasting half the roles for people who sound more appropriate for the actual characters and alter the way we/I direct everybody. I mean, I suppose there's a much larger conversation *there*, but not one I think I could legitimately have. It's a lot of speculation and there are some specific topics that one could label as "sensitive".

If we go by what some DBZA fanboys say, the original DBZ is bad while DBZA is better in everything and the only way watch the show.
The line between fans work and official work should never be crossed.

People will always want what they can't have anyway.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Why not? TFS consists of very talented VA's and have already provided voice work in official Dragon Ball products, through Xenoverse and Resurrection F. Why not give them the chance and give them the ball to run with it?

As long as it's not a hideous voice like Linda Young's Freeza, the cast should be the original, always. But I love TFS, and I would love if they had a shot at voicing new characters in Super like the U6 Team, and that idea of them voicing the parody of the cell games in buu kai WOULD BE FREAKING AWESOME.

I don't think an "official" dub would ever be in any way shape or form possible from TFS. However, it would be an interesting experiment for them to just dub an actual episode using their character voices in a more serious manner. I love TFS (hate the fans though) and wish they would do more for DB outside abridged and I think that they do have talent for the most part, in voice acting.

At one point, TFS dubbed first episode of Kai. or was it some other group? I know for sure MasakoX did Goku.

A better show. They mean the source material.
Also, sometimes there's even comments saying Toriyama watches DBZA and got inspired by TFS. And that's why DB is having a lot of gag since BOG.

That was another group. It wasn't very good, but that's because a lot of people like to use MasakoX, but none of them know how to direct him to try and be a legitimate Goku.
FortuneSSJ wrote:A better show. They mean the source material.
And the entire team acknowledges those statements as not only those people's opinions, but opinions we disagree with.
Also, sometimes there's even comments saying Toriyama watches DBZA and got inspired by TFS. And that's why DB is having a lot of gag since BOG.
And that's just mind-numbing.

Unfortunately, the casual audience which makes up a significant amount of viewership on both sides do not know the intricacies of the development of the series. As such, odd rumors and accusations like that were bound to fly. But the fact of the matter is? The fanbase wants Schemmel as Goku, and they want Funimation/Okratron to dub Super. That's all there is to it, and Schemmel should know that.

Sean's comments were deleted because they were uncomfortable for both sides. Honestly? I don't understand why he feels the need to say much of anything to us in that regard. The entire team believes he is the English speaking Goku, as does a majority of the fans of the series by a wide margin. There's no animosity on our end toward him, and while I will always personally feel there could have been a better choice for Son Goku in English (I'm stating this for the record in case someone brings up things I've said in the past), I wholeheartedly believe his performance since DragonBall has been completely on the mark, unlike any other English speaking Goku.

As I've said before: I wholeheartedly believe we have talented, hard working actors who would love to audition for Super. But beyond new roles being introduced, that is the hard limit to our involvement in the franchise. I would absolutely love to direct Masako as a serious Son Goku someday (everyone thinks they've heard it, but only shades, really) but I don't particularly feel the need to stir up the unnecessary drama that would come from that.

Haha, I somehow doubt a 50+ year old man in Japan would spend his spare time watching an American web series, even if it is a parody of his own work.
