Is Beerus Stronger Than We All Thought?
I ask because Super seems to be retconning the BOG & ROF films and removing certain tidbits, like the portrayal of Goku's strength post-SSJG ritual and making a clear difference between: Saiyan Beyond God, SSJ, and SSJGod; and then the removal of the line in which SSJB Goku & Vegeta together being able to defeat Beerus. Throw in the implication that Kaio-ken x10 SSJB Goku still isn't powerful enough to defeat Beerus, would you say this is enough to conclude that the 6/10/15 scale given by Toriyama for the BOG movie has been retconned as well?

I been trying to say that all day. I honestly think since introducing Zeno the scale has increase. Zeno is a 100. Ipersonally think Berrus is a 20. Whis is a 25-30. And when Goku went Kaioken he jumped from 8.5-16.5. I don't think the 10x power multiplier has been relevant since after frieza.theherodjl wrote:I ask because Super seems to be retconning the BOG & ROF films and removing certain tidbits, like the portrayal of Goku's strength post-SSJG ritual and making a clear difference between: Saiyan Beyond God, SSJ, and SSJGod; and then the removal of the line in which SSJB Goku & Vegeta together being able to defeat Beerus. Also Beerus lies a lot. Whose to say he wasn't holding back a lot. So when Goku was let's say a 6-heck maybe 8 in God form. Beerus would be leagues above him if he were a 20. It would make more sense and show how much Goku needs to grow.

I think Beerus sits within a moving God ceiling that Toriyama plans to scale upwards regardless of how strong Goku and Vegeta seem to grow.
The recent comments that he made about not planning for Goku and Vegeta to surpass Whis and Beerus will make for an interesting shake-up if he sees them through. Given that Dragonball has always been about surpassing limits, it should be taken as read that Goku and Vegeta are going to continue to improve - so the only way that it would make sense for Beerus to be unsurpassable, without training himself, would be for his unstated, nebulous strength to exist above a scaling pocket of 'headroom'.

Don't kill me for this, but isn't it possible that Beerus just trains? Wait, stop! I'm not referring to Golden Freeza! Whis made a comment about Beerus not being trained up to his top standards yet. An easy way to keep Beerus above Goku and Vegeta is for Beerus to feel challenged enough that he feels inspired to strengthen himself.

Yeah, and it would fit with Old Kaioshins comment about an enemy who sealed him in the Z sword not being as strong as Majin Boo.Nejishiki wrote:Don't kill me for this, but isn't it possible that Beerus just trains? The fact that Beerus instantly brushes off SSJB at times its own strength as a non threat pretty much solidifies that Beerus, along with practically every character in Super, is as strong as the plot requires them to be.

The statement he made is a bit vague on precisely what Rou Kaioushin meant by that.Kuririn Fan wrote:Yeah, and it would fit with Old Kaioshins comment about an enemy who sealed him in the Z sword not being as strong as Majin Boo.Nejishiki wrote:Don't kill me for this, but isn't it possible that Beerus just trains? Given what he said, I can see it being taken as one of three ways.Elder Kaioshin: “That’s ri~~~ight. Lo~~~ong, lo~~~ong ago, there was this ridiculously strong and ba~~~ad dude. Well, not as much as this Majin Boo guy now, but still~~~. He did it, he se~~~ealed me away inside that sword. Me here. He was freaked out by how fearsome I am. Yep, sure wa~~~as.”
1) Beerus wasn't as powerful as Fat Buu (the form Buu was in at the time) when the Z Sword incident happened.
2) Beerus wasn't as "bad" as Fat Buu.
3) Beerus was neither as powerful or as bad as Fat Buu.

But the guy is a couple hundred million years old and probably been training for the majority of his life. Any recent training in the grand scheme of things shouldn't be as significant as that.Nejishiki wrote:Don't kill me for this, but isn't it possible that Beerus just trains? Wait, stop! I just think that Beerus has been retconned upwards so to allow Goku and Vegeta to get a lot stronger but for Beerus to stay above them.
The 6/10/15 scale worked when it was a movie and there was one every couple years but now it's a weekly anime it doesn't anymore.
