Episode #0064! VegettoEX, Meri, and Julian discuss Norio Wakamoto's performance of Cell in the TV series, and how the voice was adapted with each subsequent transformation. Some thoughts on today's ridiculous advertising, this week's news, and a few e-mails round out the episode. Referenced sites:
Go ahead and grab it. Big thanks to
godofchaos for hosting the asinine
*sixty-four* episodes, now.
Apologies on the audio quality this episode. As you can hear from the opening, we don't usually sound that way. Had some issues with the new setup... too many extension cables, etc... but you'll deal

. Anyway, we always love being able to do audio-based topics on the show, since a podcast is... err... audible...

Mr. Wakamoto was a policeman?
*Suddenly gets an image of Cell in a police car and uniform while pulling people over for speeding*

I actually listened to this one while eating, which is nice, since I usually don't do anything in particular while listening to our podcast. This one was kinda short, but I enjoyed all the audio clips.
And of course, I'm waiting up for your guys' review of "that big orange thing" as you called it.

That's one thing that I thought the original version was lacking: variation with Cell's voices. IMO, its weird to hear Cell with a consistent voice in all of his forms. 'Kinda short podcast, but pretty good.

Looking forward to the Dr.Slump stuff and the review of the Season One box set. It was a short episode, but the topic and e-mails were cool.

Awesome podcast, as usual. Mr. Hercule,
lol. Also, congrats on the podcast passing GT in length, though you'll still be tied on the amount of episodes until next weekend.

Dameon Clarke and Norio Wakamoto were both amazing.
While I highly, HIGHLY doubt anyone here gives enough of a shit to watch a show like Zatch Bell, but I gotta give some MORE props to Mr. Wakamoto for his musical number as the character "Victoream"...who sang a song...
about MELONS :D
Also, I DID like Dameon's second form Cell voice, but I'm not gonna get any deeper into that one, because I've found that I'm one of the only people who actually liked Cell's second form in GENERAL, so that's fine by me :P

Kirbs, best song in Konjiki no Gash Bell is sung by Folgore... you know what I'm talking about. Now that I proved you wrong about being the only one who watches the show, yes, the melon song was special.

...I love you.
(Yes, Folgore's song is also very much awesome 8D)
Also, while I don't know if you guys were reffering to Cell, if I'm not mistaken, I don't think any filters were used on any of Cell's three form voices in the dub, but obviously Frieza had a few for himself (and then they forgot about them XD;). On that note, though, will we also be getting a similiar episode about Frieza's differences in voices, or is it not as prevalent for him than it is for Cell?

Frieza's are only so different in the English series. Nice on Mr. Wakamoto though. Still love Dameon Clarke's too.

REALLY. o_O; Not even 3rd form? For ME that's hard to imagine...
Oh and Julian, those alternate endings you did were amazing...and you broke the .wav form even moreso than I did in the AnimeNEXT episode XD;

I meant to say I do like Mr. Clarke's Cell. As for that Mr. Savage thing reminded me of how though a live action movie's unlikely, Macho Man would be perfect to play Mr. Satan.

Very nice Podcast. It was interesting to hear how much Dameon Clarke stays true to the Original Seiyuu (except in Form 2).
Also, that's pretty weird how the French Dub calls Turles, Goku's brother. I never knew that. Is that were that stupid rumor surfaced?
Also, I am surprised to hear you say that you liked the idea of SSJ4. One thing I noticed is how while in the SSJ4 form, Goku went back to his more primal Saiyan feel. His personality was at times a bit cocky. Not too much, but it was there. I also, just like most American fans, hated the whole Kid Goku thing. I thought it was corny, but that's because I love adult Goku.
Oh, & about your comments about GT Trunks. I don't really feel they tried to make him into Future Trunks. GT Trunks was serious at first (with his job) but then kinda goofy and uneasy. Not so much un-like Future. But I don't feel he was like Future at all. Once you get past the first Saga. Trunks is thrown to the side & doesn't do much. Though his role in the Shadow Dragon Saga was acctually very cool. His giving Goku & Vegeta the time to fuse and going back to fight Shenron when Vegeta leaves in the 2'nd to last episode. I guess his role in the Shadow Dragons Saga, though short, was similar to Future Trunks. Is that what you were reffering to? If so, IDK how such a small role in the final Saga can really define him as a characterer in GT

Yay! You read my e-mail!

Nice episode. Julian's Freeza impersonation made me wet my shorts.
