Mid July 2012 was when the tease for what became Battle of Gods sprang up.
Almost exactly 2 years later in mid July 2014 was when the tease for what became Resurrection F sprang up.
Maybe in a little less than 2 months we could get a tease for a new movie to be released in 2017? I don't know how likely that is now that Super is airing but I don't see why it should matter unless it's mean Toriyama would be too busy with Super.
I wouldn't be interested in a non Toriyama written DBZ movie at this point nor would it be a good idea.
I would love another movie though.
I would honestly not be surprised if we get a new movie announced in July for theaters in December.
Toei moving their traditionally-December One Piece movie up to June seemed suspicious to me.
That said, I'd want it to be a movie with a completely unique plotline that has not been used already in Super. Like, I don't want any reverse-Super going on where they adapt the Champa tournament or something.
I would like something like a visit to Planet Salad (Super never answered any of my Cabba questions), or just some adventure that involves travels to Uni 6 in general.
I was gonna say that would seem like short notice but that's exactly what happened with The Last Naruto movie and that was still successful.
It'd have to have an original plot, it'd never be as successful if it wasn't.
Toriyama would have to write it and it would have to be canon and they'd need to work it around Super's story. Probably wouldn't be that difficult, if it was something like Resurrection F were it was a self contained story that happened mainly over the course of a day and didn't really affect the series going forward unlike Battle of Gods then they could just set it between two arcs.
Them going to Planet Salad would be a good idea for the movie actually, the villain could be one of the Saiyans on that planet and then at the end they come back home. A story like that would be interesting and it could easily happen in between two arcs of the anime.

Honestly, since there's absolutely nothing solid to speculate on a plot for a potential new film, my only question at this point is whether they'd actually utilize the Super branding or keep the movies with the Z title like with Battle of Gods and Resurrection "F". Obviously not the greatest example, since they were made before Super was even announced, but I can't help but wonder how branding might affect all the things like international licensing and thus profits.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.
My personal "canon" and BP list. (Coming Soon)
If there will be a new DragonBall super movie I hope it is set few yrs after super trunks arc where we get to see teen goten & trunks and they are some what involved in the plot.....

It's gonna be fascinating to see how much they can milk this 10 year gap. And after all that comes EoZ and everyone acts like nothing interesting happened.

And that's why EoZ should be retconned making Super it's own thing like GT, while the manga is the original thing
Are we too old to enjoy new Dragon Ball movies/series?
Spoiler:

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.

Just speculation because we're coming up on the announcement date of the last two films.
Jeeez, guys, don't get my hopes up with baseless speculations
I usually get caught on that, as there is long thread, I go visit and everyone is: ''Hey, I want this new movie to be...'' in official announcement thread, lol.
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

How is it "baseless"? Both BoG and RoF were announced in July.
Even if a movie is announced in July, it's not reasonable to expect a 2016 release anymore.
Toei usually announces their movies as soon as they enter production.

They were announced in July, released next year.
I know, but it seems some people are hoping the movie could be released still this year.
Not to mention Toei seems so busy at the moment..
If we get another movie following a similar schedule as the last two I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to just move as much of the staff from the recent One Piece movie over to that one to try to avoid hurting the production of any of their shows.
