Wow, that is so meta. :)

It would be funny if Goku starts losing against copy-Vegeta, but then the water absorbs Monaca and got weaker.

The fourth set, due 04 October 2016, will cover episodes 37-48.
The fifth set, due 06 January 2017, will cover episodes 49-60.
The sixth set, due 04 April 2017, will cover episodes 61-72.

Aaand this confirms DBS isn't being replaced by Digimon, Tiger Mask, etc. It's not going anywhere anytime soon!

According to the main page Dragon Ball Super is planned for upwards of seventy-two episodes. That puts us through another three cours. Should be interesting to see where this goes.

Well the Omni-tournament arc could happen after the FT arc or the FT arc is actually longer then we thought.
Purple Cum Monster Vegeta arc

Episode 72?!

That's at least another half a year. We're at #45 now.

Looks like Super will finally surpass GT in number of episodes. I'm not surprise.

It could happen much later on like 100+ episodes later. I think there is a few more story arcs to happen before the Omni-tournament happens.

I don't really care much about how many episodes there will be, I'm all to know about the actual content. You know... quality > quantity.

What's so surprising?! :eh:
Each box has one DB in the cover, so going by that pattern we will have 7 boxes, at least.

The first box had 12 episodes. The others have 11.

11x6+12=78
78 episodes are guaranteed.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Favourite old DB Animators: Masaki Sato and Tadayoshi Yamamuro
Favourite new DB Animators: Yuya Takahashi and Chikashi Kubota

Great news! :D

I wonder if they already have plot for all these episodes? Future Trunks Arc and The Tournament, maybe... The way Mr.Toriyama commented on how the idea of Future Trunks was suggested to him, makes me think it wasn't in the original plans when Super was announced.

I'm curious if he has any kind of contract with them or if they're praying he doesn't get sick of it and just ask him for a arc every few of months.

I mean, yeah. I'm more interested in quality episodes, too, but it's also interesting to see what's being projected ahead at this point.

Hell, it was clear from the start that there wasn't a plan AT ALL in ANY fashion, nevermind just about the Trunks stuff :P.

Not surprised if this news considering how well the merchandise has been performing.
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.

It has first surpassed GT, when the 65th episode airs. We've already witnessed the original run of Kai not having all its episodes aired, because Mother Nature had other plans, so nothing's guaranteed!

Also this isn't surprising in the least, it's just confirmation of what we kinda could already deduce by ourselves as FortuneSaiyan points out.

This isn't surprising based on the ratings, merchandise sales & Toriyama's recent comments.

I remember last year a good amount of fans here were saying it would end after U6.
LightBing wrote:I wonder if they already have plot for all these episodes ?
U6's Saiyan planet was brought up a lot during the tournament so I'm sure they at least have an outline for it.

All 6 have 12, 6×12=72.

We'll at least get a 7th box with another 12 but I'm sure we'll go way past 100.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

Absolutely no way to tell anything for sure. The new episode listings could all pertain to this next arc, or it could also be about an arc that's already planned for beyond this. Impossible to call at this point. That said though, I'm banking on this next arc being a bit longer than 13-15 episodes as well, so maybe?

I'm both happily surprised and nonplussed by the episode count. While I'm happy to know it's planned to go on for a while longer, as others have said, it'll be the content that's going to matter most, not the length. I've more or less enjoyed the actual 'new' stuff Super has brought to the table though, so I'm fairly sure I'll be happy with what's coming...even if I do still feel some slight misgivings towards this 'Goku Black' business, depending on exactly what it is and how it's played out.

With the animation getting better and better, the future is looking bright.
World Trigger ended. And the way the episodes are having so many key animators, looks like toei wants to take this chance to kick out as many great looking episodes as possible, before they start to focus on another big project.

Yeah, it seems so.
I had the idea that box 2 only had 11 episodes, but it has 12 too. My bad.

Great news, GT surpassed  I wonder how much plot they already have to confirm this much number of episodes.
