Official Goku Black Thread: Your thoughts before June 12th!

Now with the release of the leaked image of Goku Black, what do you think will transpire June 12th? Do you think it will be similar to what had occurred with Future Trunks appearing in the initial Android arc?

Maybe trunks appears right as Goku and Copy-Vegeta are fighting and then the Arc will begin? So many questions....

One things for certain though, this will be a dark, serious arc, which will confuse us and which will involve timelines and universes so personally I think this is the arc that Super will be remebered for, IF the animation and story telling is up to standard ( EPISODE 39+ 40).

I'm guessing Goku somehow became a Makaioshin. He's got Potara earings and his outfit is kinda similar to a Kaioshin outfit.

Actually do you think Boo appeared in Future Trunks timeline? The only thing I hope for is TOEI & Toriyama taking time that is needed for a good not rushed arc. I wish for 24 Episodes at least.

Hmm, I still don't know how I feel about an evil Goku in of itself (it just seems too...easy), but I'm definitely curious to see exactly how the series is going to handle it. Also, Future Trunks and Mai?! Holy crap, wasn't expecting that. Very curious to see how that works out.

I'm thinking Trunks' hair here is still some kind of mistake, but if it's not, really hope there's some kind of explanation.

Why? He actually has a cool backstory and it might be fun to see it fleshed out in detail. Toriyama's original storyline for Dragon Ball Online was great. I would love to see a Time Patrol spin off series because there's just so much that could be done. Infinite possibilities.

Almost makes me think this is an alternate Future Trunks. Aren't Trunks and kid Mai "dating" in Super? Maybe these future versions are from a further developed version of that relationship.

Super so far hasn't raised the Trunks/Mai thing at all sadly, so here's hoping maybe they'll retroactively bring it back in...though it's gonna feel kind of shoehorned in now, at least just with Super as a stand-alone product. Then again we're already dealing with the kid versions of the Pilaf gang with absolutely no explanation in Super itself, so...eh.

But yeah, it's supposed to be the same Future Trunks we knew from before, not an older version of the young Trunks we have now. There could be a swerve there I guess, but doesn't seem likely.

To be honest, I'm sure Toei and Toriyama are playing with us- they probably already know we are looking to DBO and heros and Xenoverse for similarities but I'm certain the plot will be extremely complex.

I mean, who could have predicted CELL arose with the introduction of 17 & 18?? Theres far bigger things at play than Goku Black thats for sure....

Besides, its meant to confuse us so I highly doubt it would be as straight forward as Time Patrol trunks, etc.

Yea there's no way they introduce Future Trunks back into series and then have Goku wearing Demigras earrings and it NOT be about Demigra. He is literally the I only person in franchise history who want to destroy every universe so it makes sense at this point. My only thought is that black Goku is either Demigra in disguise as an illusion/projection or Demigra went and grabbed a Goku from another timeline maybe GT lol since that also happens in Demigras story as well.

Trunks - Surprised they're keeping the blue hair.

Mai - Surprised she's here and an adult. Looking forward to seeing her. I can see her and Future Trunks getting along.

Gokû Black: I want that turtleneck to be Vegeta's armor. I don't want the earring to be Demigra's. I'm curious if that's a dougi or a short sleeve jacket he's got on over the turtleneck.

I'm excited. I've been hungry for a more involving arc.

The design of the poster is very done, but it also pretty much confirms my worst fears that we are basically getting "Evil Goku" all over again.

Bleh.

There may be more than meets the eye, and I'll watch the arc to see how it progresses and hope that is the case, but I don't have high hopes.

I'm getting secondary villain vibes from Black Goku. The poster is pretty manipulative, clearing highlighting the earring. While hiding almost completely his clothes, I'm thinking there's a clue for his alliance in them.
