Ah, thanks. The old VHS fansubs I have must have picked up right after that episode then.

Does anyone else hate how that episode ends? I mean Vegeta challenging Goku and everone just ends up laughing it off. I do like when Trunks see's Vegeta punching the wall though 8)

A few days later, Cell made his announcement on TV concerning the Cell Games. Thinking he was all that, and title of tourney winner to back that up, Satan decided to take on Cell in the Cell Games.
That's how I feel about the situation, though I've always felt it took place around the Freeza saga.

It didn't. It was 5 days before the android saga. May 7, 767. Gero arrives May 12th of that year. Cell goes on tv the 16th.

You all forget to mention that Uub didn't 'pretend to lose' to satan. Somehow Buu froze him, making him unable to move, leaving him wide open for Satan to punch him out of the ring.

The ep ended after the tournament was over. Vegeta shows up, demanding to face Goku. Goku agrees, despite everyone else being like 'oh geez, Vegeta, again?' They turn SSJ and power-up. Goku suddenly powers down back to base and asks Vegeta if they can eat first cause he's starving. Vegeta, who was pissed all day and demanding a fight with Goku... suddenly bursts out laughing, as does Goku. Then the narrator says stuff about Goku being a hero (seeing as he just wasted Bebi 2 eps ago) but that their peace won't last long (which leads to the Super 17 mini-saga).

The Budokai in GT was probably one of the worst episodes of the series, and that's saying something.

EVERYTHING about this episode sucked. The fights, the plots, and especially the animation. Seriously, it was SO bad it was funny in a way.

I can't remember every detail of the episode, but I do remember there was this ongoing 'gag' about lollipops, and how everyone began sucking on them in unison. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Wasn't that the most bizarre shit ever?

Also, the way Goku is defeated is just so fucking STUPID. IIRC, he was 'tickled' out of the ring by some kid. Upon seeing Goku being eliminated like an idiot, Vegeta flips out and walks away to go beat the shit out of some random wall. O_o Seriously.

At the end, Vegeta challenges Goku to a fight, and Goku gets hungry and has to postpone the fight so he can go eat. Commence canned laughter.

Overall, this episode looked like shit. Worst animation I've ever seen in DB.

Yeah.. horrible animation indeed... Just remember the way they 'animated' Pan walking off as she defeated that huge guy. That was horrible.

Yeah. It's episode 41. I re-watched it this evening just to remind myself of how awful it was. Let's just say it was even worse than I remember it. Pay specific attention to how much they cut corners with the animation in this episode. There are several instances where characters are speaking, yet their mouths aren't moving at all. (specifically when they're enjoying their lollipops in unison... This gag STILL makes no sense to me)

The way Goku is drawn at times in this episode makes him look like he is suffering from some sort of mental retardation. (His eyes are too large, wide apart, unproportionate, etc.)

Example:

Also, like the above poster mentioned, the animation for Pan as she is walking out of the ring after her match is the WORST thing I've ever seen. It's basically 2 frames of motion repeated for 10 seconds. Embarassingly awful.

Still, the episode is worth watching to see Vegeta beat the shit out of a wall for half a minute.[/img]

Sounds bad. Is it as bad as GT episode 62?(Or whenever the dragon comes out of Goku's forehead.) Could I get some screens, please?
