Nah it wasn't. It wasn't perfect, but it was good and much better paced than ROF and Champa arc were.
Goku/Beerus still had cool conversations, right after Goku reverts back to SSJ and before pass out. A different approach doesn't mean it was worst.

Oolong vs Beerus was indeed dragged though.

The arc could have less 2 episodes but I take that over ROF/Champa arcs, that could have at least more 4 episodes.
I rather more than less.
Yeah, Goku vs Beerus is only good in the very last episode, everything before then? Pretty worthless. The movie did it better by interspersing the dialogue in-between the fighting which was already done better in the film and had better locations than the TV version. Plus Beerus getting respect for Goku is considerably less interesting than having Goku gain respect for someone else after becoming more like Vegeta.

I too am a guy who usually goes for more over less, but in the case of Super BoG, the more we got added was a poor substitute for the less of the much better-crafted film version.

Honestly, I wouldn't use anything from Super as an example of how to pace anything. I'd first go for Kai or the manga.
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

The tournament couldn't really have more episodes unless they made the Universe 6 fighters stronger. Even as it was, Vegeta insisting on holding back against Mageta to the point of almost losing just to hide SSJB was really silly, especially with him showing it for no reason at the end of the next battle.

Freeza arc could have used more episodes, but only if they intended on changing more elements. Extending the Freeza vs Goku battle without changing anything else would have been a waste of time. The story loses all tension once Goku and Vegeta arrive, followed by Whis and Beerus.

It wasn't for no reason, not at all. He was teaching Cabba a lesson and making it clear for him how far apart they were.
That and Vegeta refusing to go SSB to beat Magetta are typical instances of Vegeta being prideful, which is a trait he can never lose, or else he wouldn't be himself. Going SSB against Magetta would make it seem like he couldn't beat him otherwise and actually had to go all out against an enemy that wasn't all that and was favored by circumstances. We know how stubborn Vegeta can be and how he never goes the easy way out of anything.

For those of us debating over Trunks' hair color, either they did infact change it for the anime, or someone in merchandising didn't get a memo. It wouldn't be the first piece of merch with an error. You can generally find lots of color errors on things like Heroes cards. So we're better off still waiting for the NEP tonight, but still think it's worth bringing up.

Maybe they're his new dangler bangs? They're on Toriyama's design for the jacket outfit, but not on the one with the the green turtleneck though. So I don't really know.

The entire arc could be longer.

First, some episodes of characters training would be welcome, like we always had. We just had 10 seconds of Piccolo vs Gohan and 15 seconds of Goku vs Vegeta. That's close to nothing.

Beerus/Whis quest for Monaka should have one episode. Just like we had one for Zuno with Bulma/Jaco.

Goku vs Botamo should have been longer. Not a entire episode, just a little longer. It was too short and having both Goku vs Botamo and Goku vs Frost fights finished in the same episode was cheap.

Vegeta vs Cabba could have one more episode. The first episode would spend on Cabba unlocking SSJ and the second would be SSJ Vegeta vs SSJ Cabba onwards.
Cabba unlock SSJ and get beaten in the same episode didn't feel right to me.

The other fights were okay (talking about length here).

There was also the too convenient fact that the last Super DB was in the Nameless Planet. We could have had an adventure quest for the last one and know more about U6, but they blew it.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Yes. It was Kanzenshuu's news story (as they said in the article): http://www.kanzenshuu.com/2016/06/03/fu ... all-super/

A very good reason and perfect example of why we should discourage people from posting things without better context and a source for where they're pulling their information from.

Kanzenshuu prides itself on documentation, accuracy, and context. We encourage everyone else to live up to those ideals!

Have to disagree. The set up for the tournament could have been longer, much like the setup for the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament, but the fights themselves was well-pace. That Goku vs. Botamo fight didn't need to be that long and there was no point dragging it out, especially since people already complained about Goku being too stupid. Goku taking more than half an episode to find Botamo would have drawn complaints. The Goku vs. Frost fight could have been longer…if we already didn't have Goku vs. Freeza just an arc ago. People were complaining about Goku vs. Freeza V2, so it made sense to make that fight shorter. The Vegeta vs. Cabba fight was a good length. Vegeta in theory could have fought Cabba in his base for an episode or something, but Vegeta thought Cabba could at least go Super Saiyan and was disappointed to learn that wasn't the case. Once Cabba asked how to transform, it became less of a match or more of a giant teaching session that shouldn't be long.

The last Dragon Ball would be in U7 not U6 since Champa in theory should have already collected all the Dragon Balls from his own universe before going into U7 and risk running into Beerus, so they wouldn't go to explore U6 anyway. It is also beyond the scope of the tournament and would have been its own storyline.

Overall, the Champa arc wasn't rush. If you compared it to the length of 21st World Martial Arts Tournament in Dragon Ball, it is about that pace. They even had two matches done in one episode, which were the Jackie Chun vs. Yamcha, and Nam vs. Ranfan. It only seemed rush if you're used to Dragon Ball Z's pacing.

Goku barely took a backseat in the Buu saga, at best he took a leisurely stroll round back while everyone else cried for him to come back.
