Old dub he's 5 1/2, new dub he's 4 1/2. How old is he really at the start of the series?

Wrong Gohan said he was 4 in the Ultimate Uncut dub, I remember hearing him say it on youtube.

4 at the start

5 when the saiyans arrive

6 when goku returns to earth

9 when the androids appear, and when he defeats cell, though technically he's 10 because of the RoSaT.

16 at the start of the buu saga (technically 17)

If you go exclusively by the ages we're told during the manga, this is what you end up with:

At the very beginning of the Z-story arc, Gohan is 4 years old. He was 5 during the Freeza fight (it took one year for Vegeta and Nappa to arrive, and they took off for Namek shortly after that battle). This would make him about 6 when Goku returned to Earth. He'd be 9 during the Cell Game (the Jinzôningen arrive three years after Trunks), but physically/biologically 10 due to the year spent in the Room of Spirit and Time.

This falls right in line with the manga's narration saying Gohan is 16 when he goes to high school, which is seven years after the defeat of Cell.

Then we can go even further with the dates provided in the daizenshuu:

757, May 11 - Born
761, Oct. 12 - Four years old when Raditz arrives
762, Nov. 3 - Five years old when Vegeta and Nappa arrive
762, Dec. 24 - Still five upon return to Earth from Namek
763, Sept. 9 - Six years old when Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu are revived
764, Aug. - Seven years old when Trunks arrives
767, May 12 - Ten years old when the Jinzôningen arrive
767, May 16-17 - Spends one day in the Room of Spirit and Time, emerging at biological age 11, but chronological age 10
767, May 26 - Still ten (or eleven) during the Cell Game

The daizenshuu claims the Buu saga begins 774, April 7th. That's just under the general "seven years passing" that's attributed to the space in-between Cell & Buu. If you use that date of April 7th, it means that Gohan's birthday hasn't yet come up for the year (May 11th), so he's still 16 years old (biologically 17 due to the "one-year training" in the Room of Spirit and Time).

Link this YouTube clip then, because I know for a fact he says "4 1/2" and I own both the first Ultimate Uncut DVD and season 1. Can't be more verified than that. IMO, the whole "4 1/2" statement better helps Dead Zone into the anime, as it'd take Goku probably a few months to collect those three Dragonballs and perhaps Dead Zone (in anime canon) can be said to take place shortly after Gohan's third birthday. Forgive the random rambling.

Well, to be fair, this was back in 1996 when Saban would rather have an older child being beaten around by a green demon than a practical toddler. Hell, be glad he wasn't made 8. At least it was fixed for the redub.

The link got deleted by Funimation due to copyright material, yet they can't even be half assed to improve the quality of their episodes so they removed any Japanese Dragonbox quality episodes which were uploaded onto their also... damn them.

If that's the case, then it's mine and Wukong's word against yours. Add to that we actually own said DVDs of redub episode 2, so we can check them in an instant...which, I just did. Both Ultimate Uncut volume 1 and the dub tracks on season 1's first disc have Gohan saying "Four and a half."

Why do certain members spend half of their time complaining about FUNimation? Last I checked, their products are better then, say, bootlegged "DragonBoxes".
