A few months back, people like Qaaman made rant videos on the issue here: Clickbait. Sensationalistic videos made quickly and without much information (usually also misinformation) by Youtubers who want to make a quick buck. When Goku-Black was first revealed, those Youtubers jumped directly to making "EVIL GOKU CONFIRMED" videos, and the same thing is what's happening here.
It wouldn't be a big deal if those people didn't affect fans' expectations, but they do convince/trick people, so it is a problem. Luckily, there are many Youtubers who are big and do not do this. I already mentioned Qaaman, and Geekdom and Rhymestyle are two other examples of well-known Youtubers who actually do their homework instead of spreading information that isn't solid. Those channels help correct many fans' misconceptions, but not everyone watches their videos, so the misinformation will continue as long as the clickbait videos get made. It's really a shame and a problem in the community.

The real question is how much of a threat this Goku Black character is. We saw in the F arc/movie that Frieza was a chump compared to Beerus, Whis, and even SSB Goku and Vegeta. Now we have Vados, Champa, and apparently, the Omni King will play a role here too. If he's weaker than them and does not threaten the uni/multiverse in some way (doesn't have to be through raw power), then...

Now we have Vados, Champa, and apparently, the Omni King will play a role here too. I don't think he'll be super strong, at least initially. The promotional text said "Future Trunks resists, but even the power of a Super Saiyan is no match for this man called “Black”; that doesn't scream impressive.
I'm going for gimmicky. I don't remember them saying anything about Vados or Champa, they did say Beerus, the Omni-King and the Kaioshins would appear/participate. The latter aren't strong, which makes me think the threat is more about messing the laws of space and time, than him being ultra strong.

Mr.Toriyama appears keen on maintaining the status quo power-wise, I doubt Goku or Vegeta will surpass Beerus soon. So their opponents aren't likely to be stronger than the Gods.

I don't think Black Goku would be as powerful as Zeno (that would be crazy), or even Beerus. My wild guess is that Black Goku and all that timetravel would mess up universe seven, forcing Zeno to destroy it (telling Beerus to do so, probably) if is not solved ASAP by the inhabitants of the universe (solving=killing the main villain).
As a said, a wild guess.

See, this is a concept I like. At this point, since I doubt there will ever be a villain stronger than the gods, he has to at least bring something to the table that endangers the universe, even if it is an indirect consequence of his actions (e.g. distorting the universe through time travel, possessing the gods, and so on).

The design of the poster is very done, but it also pretty much confirms my worst fears that we are basically getting "Evil Goku" all over again.

There may be more than meets the eye, and I'll watch the arc to see how it progresses and hope that is the case, but I don't have high hopes.

Those green earings he has on look like Potara earings. I have definately seen them with the latest Dragonball games (can't recall who had it on).

Mai caught my interest though. Looks like she and Trunks could be in a relationship, which I'm not extremely surprised by after seeing Battle of Gods.

I want this boring mini saga playing on Super right now to end ASAP. Although I learned to have low expectations going in after what happened to Buu and Piccolo in the tournament which disappointed me because I was too hype.

There's emphasis on "Black" being the villain. Goku Black is prob Goku from another timeline possessed by or fused with whatever "Black" is. Kind of redundant since we're just getting through this Copy Vegeta arc, but eh.

I liked Chuquita's theory about him being a Goku darkened by despair after failing to save his friends over and over again but it seems like something too dark and too deep for Toriyama to do. It's most likely something generic like a possessed Goku or a clone or something.

I should have some faith in Toriyama to be more original than the five thousand mexican fanfics out there, but I really don't.

I watch the preview until someone actually add sub in it, "a new black enemy appear" so it could be goku? that shadow is a different look they probably did that on purpose to give us a different idea but I like fact could demon-god thing?

Relax! I think Vegetto has been foreshadowed subtly, and we might see him again. We can tell by:
- Kibito Kai demonstrating that the Namekian Dragonballs are capable of reversing Potara Fusion
- Whis pointing out Goku and Vegeta's strong and weak points, hinting that Vegetto would be the perfect warrior basically
- Gogeta being impossible, since canonically Vegeta doesn't know how to perform the Fusion Dance. Of course they could just ignore it.
- The Fusion Dance creating entities inconsistent in terms of personality, with Potara being much more predictable.
- Vegetto was in the manga and Gogeta was not, so Toriyama definitely feels closer to Vegetto.

These things favor the appearance of Vegetto over Gogeta. Even if he were created, he could just get split up again after 4 months since the last use of the Namekian DBs. Vegetto vs Whis as an even battle would be something super dope to witness.
