"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I think Bulma's research is going to play a big part in this saga somehow. Either she might be the one for creating Goku Black with some terribly failed cloning experiment, or maybe a new transformation for Trunks based on Saiyan x Human research. Just somehow Future Bulma is going to be responsible for something. I'm loving how little we know right now.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Most likely, the only thing our Bluma will be responsible for is making the time machine fuel required to go back to the future, After all, it seems as though the experiment she was running in Episode 44 is producing the same material Future Bluma is seen working on in 47's NEP, and one of the promotional blurbs mentioned that her future self was only able to make enough fuel for a one way trip.

Aside the time chamber, he can train in the gravity room right? Btw the time champer wouldn't be that effective because the time limitation in his time line.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I actually posted this in the episode 46 thread, but I realized that wasn't a proper place for doing so. Thus, I am posting it here :
I think I can offer some views on the series thus far from a much more neutral point of view. When I was in school I watched only till the middle of the Cell Saga and because of extra tuition time I never had the chance to carry on watching it from there onwards. Also my friend had a set of dbz and dbgt dvds and he told me everything in detail at school everyday . So I never watched the series from there onwards. But somehow out of curiosity I decided to watch the early few episodes of dbz about Radditz arriving on earth and I got hooked. Before last year I never had that much of an attachment to the series. But I was surprised by the qualtiy of it and watched it whole. Kai till the Freeza Saga and the original version from there onwards.
Then I watched BoG. I thought it was another generic villain who shows up and Goku then beats him up. But the way Beerus and Whis were introduced and the way it ended with Goku losing was so shocking. It multiplied my love and respect for Goku and the movie of course by 3x. Then right after I watched RoF I enjoyed it a lot. Though there wasn't much of a threat in the movie, the character development for Vegeta and Goku was really nice and I liked it. Then 11 episodes of Super were already released by then, and I binge watched them. I never understood the degree of negativity some fans had when I finished binge watching the first 11 episodes. Although I can agree the movie version feels superior because it looks better than the anime version and the pacing feels superior as you watch the movie in one go and dont have to wait for weeks for watching almost the same stuff for a few months. But despite it flaws mainly because of the art and animation, I liked the characterisation of Beerus which felt more darker and the fight was done better than the movie IMO. All in all the arc is decent but not as good as the movie for the reasons mentioned above.
The RoF arc was very disappointing. The movie version was far superior and had better fights, art and animation. Though episode 28 I think the finale, was well done. I completely agree with everyone else who were frustrated with this arc. Though I really feel bad for the animators, some of them who are working on Super and have been animating the franchise since DB because of the bad schedule of Super. No doubt this arc was disappointing.
The U6 arc was ok /decent though. Nothing groundbreaking but not bad either. Some were disappointed that it wasn't a closely battled tournament and was just a setup to the future arcs including another bigger tournament. But since Hit was the only powerful opponent and gave Vegeta and Goku a run for their money, it added a lot of weight to his character. I also saw the podcast on Geekdom's channel where he called Blacelkenfist and other guys for the review of the arc. They made some good points were a bit too critical IMO, even though I really like Blackenfist because his views are often clear and concise even though I always dont agree with them. But all in all it was a step in the right direction for Super even though it wasn't a huge leap.
Also many other big anime series like Code Geass and Gintama faced some criticism when they were airing. In Code Geass's case it was only during R2 when it was being aired weekly that everyone called it a trainwreck (and look how highly regarded it is now) and people weren't that interested in Gintama till the early 40ish episodes, but later it did got very interesting. Even though BoG's and RoF's execution was not up to the mark and was obviously not as good as the content in the shows mentioned above, the point that I am trying to make here is that in case of weekly shows people and even reviewers also jump the gun.
I also have been following Ajay's, Jacob's and Sodhi's posts on the Super Animation Catalogue thread and its been great to read their expertise on this series. The good thing is that the animation has improved from episode 41 and Toei are now investing more manpower(extra World Trigger staff) and money in the series and also outsourcing to good, reputed Japanese studios along with the Chinese and Korean ones. So hopefully the art and animation is gonna be more consistent from now onwards and the series will start hitting the standards we expect it to.

It would be very interesting if she was trying to find a way to revive the characters that died in the battle with the androids or something like that, and accidentally created an enormous threat. Future Bulma accidentally creating the threat and present Bulma being key to providing the solution or some mechanism through which one of the martial artists can defeat Black would be pretty cool.nato25 wrote:I think Bulma's research is going to play a big part in this saga somehow. Does Earth still not have a God in the future? There are so many places this can come from and go. I can't wait.

My theory has always been that we will see Black Z fighters as surely Black Goku can't be the only villain in the whole arc.Fizzer wrote:It would be very interesting if she was trying to find a way to revive the characters that died in the battle with the androids or something like that, and accidentally created an enormous threat. I would like for Future Bulma to revive them but their minds go back to their original state and in the case of Goku, Vegeta and Piccolo that is evil.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Re-reading the offical synopsis, why would Bulma want help from Goku? She shouldn't know he's alive down here right? My memory is a bit foggy but I'm pretty sure Trunks told her Goku died anyway and didn't want to come back.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Maybe they're seeking help from Gohan/Vegeta/Piccolo etc. Even without Goku, the others would be plenty of help, especially since last they heard Gohan was actually stronger than him and the one to defeat Cell.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Re-reading the offical synopsis, why would Bulma want help from Goku? It may just end up being how she actually words it that allows her to include Goku in it without actually mentioning Goku by name, like "our friends from the past" or something like that.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Re-reading the offical synopsis, why would Bulma want help from Goku? Gravity Chamber also has limits. For Vegeta it allowed him to become a Super Saiyan 2, eventually, but even then he wasn't greatly stronger than Super Saiyan 2 Gohan. If you believe Vegeta, he was still weaker than Goku as a Super Saiyan 2 before he became a Majin.Pannaliciour wrote:Aside the time chamber, he can train in the gravity room right? Clearly Bulma watched Batman vs Superman and got the idea from Lex.nato25 wrote:I think Bulma's research is going to play a big part in this saga somehow. Hm true that's probabily it maybe Toei just worded it as Goku & Vegeta for the synopsis, it's a minor thing anyway no idea why it was bugging me lol.Darkprince410 wrote:It may just end up being how she actually words it that allows her to include Goku in it without actually mentioning Goku by name, like "our friends from the past" or something like that.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Re-reading the offical synopsis, why would Bulma want help from Goku? I am pretty sure Bulma and Trunks will not even mention Gohan, and will specifically say they need Goku and Vegeta's help, only because this is Super. Nothing makes sense. Goku should be considered dead and Gohan should be considered their best hope.
"Dragon Ball once became a thing of the past to me, but after that, I got angry about the live action movie, re-wrote an entire movie script, and now I'm complaining about the quality of the new TV anime. It seems Dragon Ball has grown on me so much that I can't leave it alone." - Akira Toriyama on Dragon Ball Super

Really interested to see if they stick to continuity on that one.Darkprince410 wrote:It may just end up being how she actually words it that allows her to include Goku in it without actually mentioning Goku by name, like "our friends from the past" or something like that.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:Re-reading the offical synopsis, why would Bulma want help from Goku? Having a strong feeling Goku's line about Whis being "away" will be important.
I hope Future Trunks sees Whis and freaks out like "you follow the monster!" A future-God of destruction-Goku could be a cool idea.
Unfortunately Id bet the farm it's time-breaker Bardock. The interview where he says "the gods, kaioshin, and omni-king will be dragged in!" is what convinces me. Why would he specifically mention kaio's with those other big entities when they haven't been important forever unless he plans on unveiling the kaioshin of time. Still would be a cool story don't get me wrong but I'd like something new and original.
