Hah, yeah, his voice changed. Smoking a pack a day can do that.

But here are the characters I see being redone:

Vegeta
Ginyu
Tenshinhan
Yamcha(The surfer attitude was kind've dropped after that season)

Any more?
Maybe Bulma? I just skip those scenes anyways so it woulndt matter to me.

So we'll be getting both versions of Season 3's dub?
Wonderful news!

I hadn't noticed that smoking had changed his voice dramatically.
On hiatus.

::sighs::

His voice has changed mainly in the way he approaches his characters. You see it in all his characters for this show, from Vegeta to Yamcha to Piccolo, as each season progresses from Season 3.

For those who've taped the uncut run can hear it when the final episode they dubbed was in part also the first part redubbed in Season 3. You can hear that the performance and experience is vastly different from what it was then.

This is no different, and I expect the redubbing of his roles to lesson as they reach the episodes of Season 5.
It's the show that brings you in, but it's the fandom that wears you out.

Hopefully the narration by then sounds less forced and less talkative. Less damn jokes, too, please. >:(

They need to get the guy who did narration for Dragon Ball. He was awesome.

Ah...yeah I forget his name, but he makes for a decent English counterpart to Jouji Yamani. I thought he did a pretty good job.

Brice Armstrong. You've heard him in DBZ as Ginyu in the redub as well as the Budokai games.

Funny how the narrator voice is decent but Ginyu and Slug sound almost identical...

And I thought Kyle Hebert took over as narrator.

Ye got me. :D

Movie 4 is the only DBZ movie I have yet to watch fully in any language.

Kyle is the narrator for DBZ, they were just asking about Brice Armstrong who was the narrator for Dragonball.

Funny how each dub has a diffrent style for the narrator. Silly FUNi, trying to be "hip". Atleast they didn't have the guy from "Step into the grand tour" rap the narration. *Cringes at the though*

Personally I dont see how anyone could miss season 3 corny lines. I think its welcomed to actually fix some of funi stupid mistakes. The only thing I want intact is the original screams as nowadays funi actors seem kind of tired and cant scream as they used to.

Oh yeah, I can never....evvveerrrr forget that bit of fun. :D :D :D

Especially since we watched that particular episode of Fruits Basket with Brice after that dvd of Yu Yu Hakusho with Brice as nearly everyone on that disc.

I still have the video on my comp from that day of John voicing Goku running into King Kai's car to raise his power level.

Good times.

I've been smoking a pack a day since I was 14 (8 years) and it hasn't done anything to my voice, but I don't scream into a microphone for a living...maybe that's different.

Better than hiding the truth from them as if it doesn't happen, like 4kids does by editing cigs into lolipops and toothpicks. If Mike or another moderator doesn't want that on the forum then it's fine by me if these posts are edited or deleted. I'm just trying to make a point that maybe Sabat's change in style is preferential and totally unrelated to being a chain smoker.
