What are you most happy and agitated with regarding super?

Pro's: I like the design of the new characters and I love the general story about Super.
Cons: The animation, the off-model drawings, it being worse than GT. The fact that they fail so hard with executing a decent story.

I like the potential of the other universes & Gods along with a few episodes focused solely on comedy. Everything else ranges from mediocrity to "eat shit and die Super" levels of bad.

Well, the show really sucks so that's the most agitating thing. I can't think of any positives tbh.

I love that Super makes me laugh and smile on a consistent basis. It's a celebration of these characters we've known for so long, and definitely plays to a high level of nostalgia. Most of the new characters fit right into this established universe and interact well with the pre-existing characters.

However, it's hard to turn my OCD off when it comes to Marron, Goten, Trunks, and (if she even still exists) Bra. I can look past Goten and Trunks not aging up yet (due to uneven Saiyan genetic shenanigans: Goku remains child-sized for a long time too), but it's harder to look past Marron's size compared to how she appears at the End of Z. Many of us have even given up hope in regards to Bra, now turning to the idea that she might actually be Future Trunks' daughter, adopted later by Present Vegeta and Bulma.

So really, I absolutely adore and enjoy Dragon Ball Super, and I should learn to set aside my frustrations with its continuity.

The series has basically become a glorified fanfic:

- New Super Saiyan forms

- Freeza returns

- Goku and Vegeta are the only two who matter.

This all happened in the original series, GT and some of the movies.

I don't think it's yet surpassed the original run in that regard, actually. Especially because the narrative and character arcs felt like they were moving forward at the same time. What we've gotten out of this era has been amusing, but Goku and Bulma in the very first chapter are amusing.

Plus, for every Bulma-Vegeta-Whis interaction we've had, we've seen Gohan and Videl--one of the most entertaining couples before the series originally ended in both the manga and especially the anime--turned into wet towels. Pretty much anything with Goten and Trunks has fallen flat. There are plenty of scripting letdowns it feels Toriyama probably could have mined something from, or even the anime writers during the original series' more leniently scheduled run. (Or we just wouldn't have seen them, which is fine, because not every character needs to be present at all times.)

YMMV in regards to entertainment brought out from the Gohan/Videl relationship. I mean, most of the entertainment that came out from Gohan and Videl interacting with each other was when they weren't a couple. They were just strangers to each other that were brought together by coincidence and Videl blackmailing Gohan into making him teaching her how to fly. The awkwardness of Gohan handling the whole situation was wonderful. But I never really got much out of the Gohan/Videl relationship when they officially did became a couple because the moments between then were so few and far between. Even in GT you don't really see much of them together. The only moment that I got a kick out of in regards to when Videl and Gohan were a couple was when they both dressed up the Great Saiyaman and Great Saiyawomen and arrived at a bank robbery only for the robbers to give up when they made their dramatic entrances. That was hilarious. But that was really all I got out of the relationship between them.

Well, we really never saw them as a proper couple in the manga or Z, but, yes -- I absolutely love the idea the movies (and later GT) added, that they enjoy fighting crime together as garish superheros for some time. Either way, their mutual love of crime-fighting was part of their coming together in the manga.

Regardless, even if they're not donning costumes, there's no reason to have ever predicted they'd be as dull together as they are now. Even if they appeared one third as frequently (which would actually be a blessing) I'd love to see what Toriyama himself would do with their appearances. I have a feeling most of what we've seen from them in Super has been Toei-only, and their minor roles in Battle of Gods were more entertaining than anything we've gotten since.

Most Happy: For me, the slice of life mix we got with some amusing interactions between characters. Also enjoy the opening, despite it completely contradicting the whole series.

Agitated: Videl and her new boring personality. Goku's overly retarded attitude. Vegeta's pride being swept away. Piccolo and Gohan's minor involvement in the series. The animated fights not having any impact or fire in them. No more SSJ2 or SSJ3.

Hit fight - very different from other ones in the franchise.
Monaka and Jaco fun moments
Beerus character (it's the only chara in DB franchise that apparently evolved in a narrative sense)
No brainer: no need to study power levels or overintellectualize reasons for something - what you see is what you get (how relaxing!)
No machism: I'm watching anime to feel entertrained, not to solve some kinda inferiority complex.

Very Happy:
Goku vs Monaka/Beerus and the whole episode. It's incredible funny and above the entire series level. In a sense, nothing like happened in DB for 20 years.
How the series it's scheduled . it create continual hype! I think this was very well done.
The time spent to show characters do something else than fight.

Agitated:
rushed episodes
the need to retelling movies I don't care for
people arguing about power levels everywhere
self contained arcs
I have the suspect the whole thing will end without any climax at all.

- watching Beerus again after BoG movie.

- the art (mostly at the begining, getting better in the last episodes, minus episode 46)
- the animation
- that BGM that tunes whenever Gotenks or Goku is on screen or when something "good" is happening. you know the one I'm talking about. ugh
- Dumb Goku
- too much Vegeta x Bulma for me
- Beerus being a Jerk to Vegeta / Vegeta being a coward with Beerus
- Jaco and Bulma together (Poor Jaco)

Basically I'm happy there is finally a decent following to Z, there is a number of messed up things nevertheless but I see gradual progress overall and eagerly wait for new episodes each week.
