As I recall, the only Saiyan that wanted Goku to join them was Raditz. Vegeta only recommended recruitment for Goku after he witnessed him defeating Nappa with ease. That, and he was short on men, anyways. Nevertheless, Saiyan's favored in destruction and chaos.

Freeza wanted money and immortality Cell wanted a challenge and perfection

Freeza was the self-proclaimed ruler of the universe. He got his lulz off of the pain and misery of others. We've never got a distinctive answer as to why Freeza did what he did other than, "I'm the strongest, so therefore, I can." Cell was different from Freeza, since he was basically created to cause destruction. He desired a challenge, yes - but as soon as he got one, he attempted to rage quit the battle by blowing himself up along with Earth and his enemies.

Beerus wanted a challenge.

Beerus' job IS destruction, albeit not senseless (at tmes) - and I'm still not fond of the concept of his character.

This isn't about whether or not they like destruction though. It's about their main motivations. They all liked destruction to an extent (if they didn't why would they be villains lol), but their main motivations were different

I remember it being something he said he wished he could voice. I don't know where I read it though. I imagine he'll be excited to voice Gokû Black whenever the dub happens.

I still wonder why they didn't have him voice Turles.

Closest thing to that I can recall is when I was at a Q&A panel at Indianapolis Comic Con a couple months back when he was asked who his favorite character to voice was. He responded with something along the lines of, "Definitely not Goku. (followed by a lot of laughter) He never really grows as a character. I do really like playing villains though".

Was it confirmed that it is Future Goku who becomes evil? Because I thought that it might be possible that Black merges/fuses with present Goku, probably making Vegeta and Trunks the protagonists of this arc.

Yeah, one of the summaries (I think the Tv Fuji one) mentions that when Trunks confronts Black he notices that he looks like Goku.

I thought that at first, too, but looking back at the producer's comments, this is what he said:

This “Future” Trunks arc that’s about to begin will feel a little different than Dragon Ball Super has up to now: a severe battle surpassing time and space, and putting the entire universe at risk! Following on from Majin Boo and Freeza, this time Goku and the gang’s enemy is… Goku?

This one didn't specify Black looking like Gokuu was happening in the future (unless that's not the quote you were thinking of). The other summary only refers to the character as "Black" when talking about how he confronts Trunks and Bulma in the future, and doesn't mention what he looks like. So I think at this point it's not clear whether Black has already taken on Gokuu's appearance in the future timeline, of if that happens later (but I could be wrong, if there's some other description that clarified this).

Also, since kid Trunks is still just a boy, I thought it’d be good to also portray him as growing up bit by bit. Well, I guess I’ve given the game away (laughs).

I like it. This arc could perfectly give some character development to Kid Trunks. Poor Goten.

How predictable. Called it and I can't get behind this idea. Didn't make sense with Bardock, didn't make sense wth Turles, and probably won't make sense with Black Goku either.
This could be a good chance to find another voice actor that can voice Goku. Nozawa is already 79 years old and there's no point in overwork her.

If this Black Goku is literally Goku who has become evil for whatever reason, why wouldn't they have the same voice? It isn't like Bardock who is Goku's father or Turles who is just a concept of what an evil Goku would be like.

That quote from the Tv Fuji preview makes him sound closer to Baby than to an evil Saiyan though.

Edit: Although, thinking about the speculation about Goku Black being Goku after becoming a God of Destruction or something similar, maybe he doesn't consider himself a Saiyan anymore by that point, explaining why he talks like that.

This is what makes me think that Goku-Black isn't just Goku, but with a sinister edge to his personality. If he was actually a Saiyan, he would not refer to fellow Saiyans as saiyans.

During Z he didn't consider himself a saiyan until the end of the Freeza arc, so there's a little bit of precedent for Gokû denying it.

The article also reveals that the story’s main plot was developed in the autumn of 2015, with a final screenplay completed in February 2016, indicating that production has been ongoing for the past four months.

Hopefully this will finally convince some people out there that Toriyama was definitely referring to Freeza when he said: "I was thinking about having SSGSS be white, but thought it would have color-clashed with the "next enemy"."

The guy didn't even have the slightest clue as to what the 2015 movie (the "next movie" at that time) was going to be about, and people are believing he was planning in advance the following events that are taking place after the movie, while he was writing the script of the said movie in which he was heavily involved, with its huge success in theaters being undoubtly the catalyst for the Dragon Ball Super project to see the light of day in the first place.

There is nothing wrong with Goku Black refearing to Trunks as a saiyan if he is one as well.

He could either not know Trunks name or he is using it as an insult. Vegeta refered to Gohan like that before.

Well the 2 toned black Gi and ear ring really cling right to me. Most fan art is usually a jet/pitch black version of Goku's old "Z" gi, this one's a bit different with the turtle neck and such. I'm thinking in the anime it's going to look a bit different though.

Not gonna lie, look pretty bland. Also, look like goku is using kaioken in the picture.

Still hoping we haven't seen any SSJ/SSB Trunks or Black Goku yet because they have different transformations. I feel like it's a pretty slim chance but I'm hanging onto it until we see otherwise. Id even prefer Black to fight in base form similar to Mystic Gohan so we don't get SSB vs SSB. Some type of rage-Saiyan Vegeta could eventually tap into is at the top of my list.

I also think there's a possibility of multiple Black Goku's. Whether from different timelines or clones. One of them almost kills Trunks, then at the end of the episode 4 of them just teleport in as Trunks escapes in the time machine. Would be cool to see Goku fight one, vegeta, Gohan/trunks etc.

Why only DBZ? Whats wrong with original Dragon Ball, they are part of the same story.
