I'm...gonna...make an educated guess that he's joking and that's not actually a translation. Mostly because I'm pretty sure that this - (^∇^) - is an emoticon, and not any form of kanji, and that said emoticon would be preeetttttyyyy out of place with such a statement, particularly coming from the voice of one of said characters.

Guys, I'm going to be straight with you. If you feel the show has gotten 'silly' ... it hasn't. You're just 'too old for this shit'. Seriously, 95% of the people in those boards do not fit the target demographic of the show, so don't expect the show to be 'everything you hoped for'. I'm referring to the people here who expect Super to be rich with dark moments, serious storytelling, meaningful characters etc etc. It won't. It's a show for kids. A show for kids being kids. Everyone in those boards has a manchild in him/her, clamoring to get out, and that's fine. But having unrealistic expectations (such as believing the show grew up alongside you) is naïve at best. Honestly, do you take seriously a story where the supposed God of Destruction halts his urges to blow up stuff in order to eat ice cream sundae? That's the show's silliness at full force, take it for what it is. The show hasn't matured one bit, so don't expect it too. Again, I'm not saying that's a bad thing. I'm saying *that* is DB and always will be.
Maybe (^∇^) is really a butt with a triangle anus and two nipples and that's the connection between it and the word "assassinate"... although assassinate has two asses... hmm...
Looking at it, while not convincing me if Future Mai is dead or alive, does make me think she's not coming along with Future Trunks to the past and that she'd been hoping she would be going with him so she's disappointed? (I'm not entirely sure.)
The last sentence is just 'Pilaf Gang is in the next episode, look forward to it!' pretty much.
"I, too, don't know what's going to happen to Mai from here on out. But....hehehe
@xxx_maskat: I just thought that Mai would come along with Trunks to the present and have an active heroine role, but too bad. I am looking forward to more activity from the Pilaf gang."
The context is a fan hoped Trunks would bring back Future Mai and was asking Eiko Yamada about it on Twitter.

The last part of her tweet ("But... hehehe") just after a fan says she won't come to the present makes me think the opposite will happen. So, somehow Mai will go to the present with Trunks, I guess.

So Future Mai really is dead? Or am I looking into the comment too deeply?

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

I can only hope that little chuckle at the end of her quote signifies that there's more to this than we think (i.e. Future Mai is still alive and was merely unconscious.)
First all these questions: what the hell is Mai doing in Trunks timeline.Or why is she not old. This all doesn't make sense. YeeZ dam you Toriyama did he forgot?
Now she looks like killed and everybody is complaining again.
...why don't we know anything about a new ending? It should be coming soon.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.
It is possible that they will ask Super Shenron to resurrect Mai. Shenron and Polunga probably wouldn't be able to, but it is possible that Super Shenron may be able to resurrect someone from a different timeline and bring him or her to the present timeline.
However, it may take a long time to collect the balls and they may be inactive (but not necessarily? Do we know anything about this?). Or they could ask Shenron to make present Mai an adult again.
I don't know if they would go through all the trouble of summoning Super Shenron to resurrect Mai, but it may be possible that they ask for some complicated inter-timeline wish that also has this consequence.
Mai's voice actress doesn't know what happens to her, but given that she was advertised as a main role in this arc, shes most likely to be unconscious. The next episode preview doesn't show any of the footage regarding Future Mai's fate. It's possible that she's sleeping in a hospital off screen.

Trunks could always just bring her corpse with him to the present, allowing them to use the Earth DBs. (I believe.)
Doubtful. If she's actually dead, her soul would still be in the afterlife of Trunks' timeline. Meaning it would have to traverse time and space to return to her body.
