Because of DB games history, I am expecting big improvements to combat but am I the only one on this forum that appreciates XV1's combat??

If the hitstun didn't suck and balance was a little better, than yeah it would be great. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy the combat system. Just had a tad too many problems is all.

I hope we get another lucky sequel like we did with Budokai 3. Budokai 1 and 2 were really nothing to write home about, but 3, damn that was a step up. Hopefully Xenoverse 2 can be as much a step up as Budokai 3 was to it's predecessors. I hope it's not a Budokai 1 to 2 level difference, cause that wasn't that much.

I'm more hoping that Xenoverse 2 pulls an Assassins Creed 2. The first Assassins Creed game was a really unique concept and it was also quite flawed. But Assassins Creed 2 was just such a huge improvement in every department. But the sad thing about that scenario is that the Assassins Creed franchise peaked with just the second instalment as it is still considered to this day as the best entry in the franchise. I really don't want a case like that for Xenoverse if it's going to turn into a franchise.

Yeah I'd take a story cutscene like Budokai 1 over Budokai 3 any day, even if it's gameplay is worse overall

Budokai 1's story hardly means anything when it's gameplay isn't really that good. Budokai 3 had a much better and more refined fighting system. Budokai 3 you can recommend to people who aren't big fans. I can't see Budokai 1 being that. It's just not that good of a game. The cutscenes are literally all Budokai has going for it. 3 while a step down in story is sooooo much better at everything that's more important.

Budokai was good for its time. But I agree, ultimately, Budokai 3 is far superior. I don't care for the story as much as I did when I was a kid, but Budokai 3 will always be my second favorite Dragon Ball game.

Nah even for it's time I disagree. You could find a ton of better fighting games than Budokai. Budokai even then I'd say was a Dragon Ball Fan's game. You'd really only want it if you're a fan of the series. If you didn't care for the characters or story, then you're basically left with nothing. Budokai 3 though is a solid game that a non fan can get into. A simple easy to pick up fighter, that's still complex enough to be fun.

Sorry to interuot the budokai 1 vs 3 debate (they both have their pros and cons. Budokai 1 had the hercule thing plus some what ifs and some of the best story cutscenes weve ever seen. Budokai 3 had branching paths, secreys to discover and covered most of the fights. Of course its gameplay is much better as well) but...

Is there any indication of what time any news or footage is dropping? I'm keen as and rhymestyle said he would have gameplay the next day which is over now i think.

This is why it's important to read everything for context. He didn't promise new gameplay yesterday specifically, he amended it with "tomorrow or the next day" because he didn't know what the date was. As I've been trying to say for three pages now, that would push his supposed upload(s) to Tuesday...when E3 opened to the public and we were expecting info in the first place.

If Bandai Namco has demos on the floor, we could start seeing info as soon as people mange to record and upload footage once the show opens on Tuesday.

If we're getting another public trailer or info directly from Bandai Namco like their Youtube uploads and the like with XV last time, it may be posted tomorrow when the show floor opens. It's also possible we may have to wait till Wednesday, as we now know XV2 will be on stage at 2:20 PDT,

Y'know, after that crazy Crash Bandicoot trilogy remaster announcement from Sony's press conference... I'm pretty much satisfied with E3 and no longer need to see XV2.
But no, seriously, I still really want to see some new XV2 stuff.

He heads the big Raging Blast 3 fan project. Has dozens of images and details about it on his deviantart. I believe he actually got to sit down with some people from Namco Bandai around the time Ultimate Tenkaichi came out.

That's his own fan doings though. He's also a French journalist and has been meeting with the producers, developers, etc for years before that (usually at Japan Expo in France) about the official games.
