Yeah, most sequels to games are basically using the first game as a foundation. Simply adding and improving upon what it already has, this is pretty standard for sequels. They'll probably add more stuff to the levels and tweak some of the objects a bit (The wasteland level looks extremly simmilar, but swear that it does have some differences).VegettoEX wrote:Yeah, that seems like an absurd assessment to me. Why wouldn't you carry over existing stages in a sequel, while simultaneously adding new ones? This isn't a total reinvention of the franchise, it's a sequel.

So what time is the Xenoverse 2 gameplay at in Eastern Standard time?
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

The Budokai and Tenkaichi sequels didn't recycle the same maps though.
They had the same areas, they all had Namek but it was a different looking Namek. They had different looking Wastelands etc. The stage used for the Gohan and Turles fight is exactly the same as from the last game.

Exactly. I mean, heck, I'm no expert on these things, especially not from a technical level, but if they really wanted to, there'd be no reason they couldn't take a stage from the first game, and build upon it and make the area even larger, if they so wanted, right?Kanassa wrote:Yeah, most sequels to games are basically using the first game as a foundation. (Not that they really need to do that at least with most areas, because good lord some of those are already pretty freakin' massive as it is.)

Not true. I remember them to be exactly the same in all three Budokai Tenkaichi games. And it's not like that would be "oh my god its awsome the stage are different"...Bullza wrote:The Budokai and Tenkaichi sequels didn't recycle the same maps though.

Nah they weren't. Some might be because there may not have been a choice like the Hyperbolic Time Chamber or Kami's lookout but things like Namek, Wastelands, Deserts, Grassy plains were different between each game.Grimlock wrote:Not true. They were similar for obvious reasons but not exactly the same.

I swear in all DBZ games the namek stage is the same, by the EXACT same mountain!Grimlock wrote:Not true. I remember them to be exactly the same in all three Budokai Tenkaichi games. Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
I don't recall noticing any differences at all, at least none to write home about.
If it looks like Namek, then it looks like Namek, there's really only so many improvements that can be made. We can already be on the ground there, go into the sky fairly high, go underwater, and in the case of something like Namek we can even go behind bigger rock areas and hide for a bit if needed. There's not really a lot of improvement to be had there, at least none that I can think of. Well, nothing other than destruction caused to stages staying there (or at least lingering a heck of a lot longer than it did in the previous game).

They looked exactly the same. There might have been some slight differences, but that's beside the point.

I honestly much rather have 20 old stages and 20 new stages, than 20 redesigned stages and a few new ones they managed to fit in because some like the RoSaT and Kami's Sanctuary can't really be changed that much.
Seriously, redesigning old stages is a huge waste of resources to me. They can literally use that time for anything else: new characters, new stages, new moves, new customization, tweaking mechanics. whatever.

In regards to the Sparking! games' stages, it was only when we made the jump to Sparking! Neo where the stages were redesigned. When it came to Meteor, we had only had changes where it was the time of day similar to what's probably going to happen with XV2.
I prefer it to be that way since XV's stages were fine as they were and needed no redesigns. I want them to focus their resources on making new environments.

Dragon Ball /Z/GT/Super is a children's show and there's nothing wrong with that.

Anyone else notice that Goku has the wrong outfit, and Frieza's only using 50% (presumably)? Sorry if this is too obsessive...Grimlock wrote:

What do you mean wrong outfit? He was wearing the same battle damaged outfit when Freeza was still below his maximum power.

Namek wasn't this ruined when Frieza was using less than 100%, and Goku's outfit should be more damaged than it is.ryou766 wrote:What do you mean wrong outfit? He was wearing the same battle damaged outfit when Freeza was still below his maximum power.

Coola's on Namek, so things have changed. Outfits and the like have changed between trailers and the finished product, so it's probably not worth nitpicking about such things right now.
Re: "Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2" Official Discussion Thread
Freeza had attempted to destroy Namek before he was at his maximum power and Goku still had his blue undershirt intact.Anime Kitten wrote:Namek wasn't this ruined when Frieza was using less than 100%, and Goku's outfit should be more damaged than it is.ryou766 wrote:What do you mean wrong outfit? It doesn't have to be precise in detail, but Namek did indeed begin to fall apart once Freeza attempted to destroy the planet.
