First Time Buying A Dragon Ball Toy!

Post by ChiefWamsutta » Wed Jun 15, 2016 5:49 pm

Hey all!

As the title says, I'm considering purchasing my first ever Dragon Ball toy. I've been an avid fan of Dragon Ball for a long time, but never bought any of the toys.

I'm curious as to your guys' and gals' opinions on what should be my first?

Anything Banpresto is always pretty great as long as it's legitimate.

Hi, there! I've haven't posted in over a decade (I actually forgot I was registered to this forum!), but I think I can help you there.

If you're looking for a Dragon Ball toy, you can't go wrong with the classic Super Battle figures by Bandai. They only have articulation in the arms, but they're pretty sturdy for the most part, and often come with accessories, like a removable vest for Goku, and a sword and sheath for Trunks. These days, though, they might be expensive, and there's a lot of bootlegs around as well (though even the bootlegs are pretty decent quality). If you you can a Super Battle figure at a good price, I think it's worth it.

If you're a fan of nice sculpting and large amounts of articulation, I recommend checking out the S.H. Figuarts line. Those figures average around $50 a piece (not counting certain exclusives) so that may or may not be within your price range.

For articulated figure - go with the S.H. Figuarts by Tamashii Nations.
For a well sculpted statue - go with Figuarts ZERO by Tamashii Nations as well, or anything from Banpresto (Master Stars Piece, DXF, The Figure Collection etc.)

And yeah, I need to find better signature.
