Yeah, among many of their other anime licenses like Doremi, Tokyo Mew Mew, Sonic X, and apparently YGO! GX.

About the "new animated Dragonball sketches"...I hope that it never goes beyond commercials!
Toei have had enough draining of Mr. Toriyama's master piece, and I think that once and for all it should be left as it is! (GT anyone?!)
I watched some episodes of the new Dr. Slump and in my humble opinion, it didn't hold a candle to the older series, so, with that being said, I can only assume that a newly animated Dragonball series would bring total misery to this great work of art.
Now if we were talking about a Neko Majin animation feature, that would be sweet!
And what about Cashman?!
Seriously...re-doing and trying to improve Dragonball is the same as re-painting and improving the Mona Lisa...NOT POSSIBLE! Even if the animation did suck at times, those are the Dragonball series and should stay like that forever!
Just my two cents...

Don't feel bad, Chuquita. Toei 'done mocked us all.. :( It's times like these when I pretend that my Budokai Tenkaichi games are malfunctioning and the title screens are actually errors.

I missed out on all of the DB Movie fun, huh?
Point blank: it's gonna suck if you want it to. Personally, I'm seeing it as a comedy.

Dude, those Sure Note commercials look like ass. The core attributes of the characters are there, but everything else is so off model it's not even funny. The facial features in particular are all out of whack.

Anyways, I don't know why people want to see new DragonBall stuff. They already remade Dr. Slump in 1997 and that series was barely even a shadow of the original. I'm sure the new movie they're making won't blow me away either (especially if they use the '97 cast, bleh).

Of course, if they made a new movie or special I'd still watch it, but if it's anything like the 10th Anniversary Special or GT I'll be pissed. I'd much rather have no DragonBall at all then some more cheap cash-in garbage.

Contrary to popular belief, that would actually be the proper way of pronouncing it considering you can't actually get "say" from Sai, unless you're FUNimation. Especially since Saiya comes from yasai, which you wouldn't pronounce as "yasay." :P

Screw new Dragon Ball. Why the hell hasn't anyone thought about this yet? ANIMATED CROSS EPOCH. :(

That little commercial was...strange. Didn't seem like they were advertising stationary. But the colors looked nice. Goten had a weird expression though

That's actually the "correct" way to say it.

wow thats amazing. I think that if TOEI can continue a show like Saint Seiya which is another classic, they should have no problem making a new dragon ball movie.

What is the problem too? The movie does not have to be "canon", but I would love to see Gohan and Vegeta in a new movie with that animation.
Should we start a petition around the world to start a new movie/series?

It's a different situation. With Saint Seiya they still have material from the original manga left to adapt.

EDIT: Although they did make that movie a couple of years ago that wasn't based on the manga, didn't they? I guess that's not so different.

Funimation put them on the VHS tapes in the late 90s, I dont remember actually ever seeing them on TV.

They aired on TV. T'was mostly on syndication, suprisingly.

I agree, except that they made 3 Saint Seiya movies recently that are part of the continuity of the last episode in the anime (as TOEI says)

They dropped Sonic X? Do you have a link that can verify it?

Er... Nope. There are five "Saint Seiya" movies, and four of them are almost 10 years old.
The most recent movie is supposed to take place after the events of the manga, but since Kuramada wasn't pleased with it, I guess you can't consider it canon...
