Someone probably already said this, but it was confirmed that Toriyama created Mira and Towa during Dragon Ball Online and didn't want to get rid of them. The question was answered in Rhymestyle's interview.

Side note: It was asked if Demigra had any relatives and he laughed and said 'no comment'.

I don't quite get how things get so jumbled when the interview is right there, because that last part isn't what he said. Yes, we got confirmation that Toriyama designed Towa and Mira (they won't acknowledge DBO though), but it was only mentioned that the duo are really popular in Japan and used a lot in other games and so Hirano couldn't really kill them by the end of Xenoverse because they are so important.

I think they don't want to use all their cards right away so the online part of the story that's being developed in heroes will remain there for the time being while the console games focus on the anime's contents.

The 1st game was mainly focused on the Z anime.

The 2nd game seems like is going to focus on the remaining of it and Z's movies, maybe even GT.

The 3rd game will most likely focus on Super's part of the story.

While that's going on Heroes will have been developing the time patrol/online part of the story for years which means that'll be able to be a full game, a Xenoverse 4.

Hirano did say though, "They were created by Akira Toriyama". They didn't have to mention DBO because we know that was where they first appeared. At least we got one good question from that interview. lol

There were a couple of interviews during Xenoverse' promotion where the interviewer knew Towa and Mira were from DBO and the interviewee would reluctantly acknowledge the project's existence after being confronted with it. But in general, the Japanese don't seem to want to admit it was a product. Most of the interviews would only cite them as "now, original characters", so it seems like they rather treat the content as their own recent material.. Afterall, despite Toriyama spending at least 5 years working on it and being a pretty huge endeavour, there's nothing about it at all in the Chozenshuu for the in-universe material or even the product suction (which has Over 9000 meme merchandise for fucks sake).

That said you have no need to worry. Bardock's time as a masked villain was used in Heroes. They can grab him from there without having to admit DBO was ever something they were involved with.

Except we had the GT DLC for XV1 and Omega was just screwed around with by Demigra's magic. And Hildegarn really isn't much different than Janemba and would then itself be stolen from to make Baby in GT. Just leave GT out of it. We're already getting the other movies with Broly already shoved into XV1. I'd really rather not see XV2 just be the first game, but asking for more money.

Most likely because it never came out in Japan. It would be kind of dumb to acknowledge it since the majority didn't know about it. Plus they're selling it's reboot, so there's no need to take attention away from Xenoverse for a cool mysterious mmo like DBO. It's a shame, but I have at least a little hope that they'll make Xenoverse into an open world mmo like DBO one day. It would be a dream come true for me. A hub world that's 7x bigger which includes flying and mounts a good step imo.
