I always read "Makaioshin" this and that. I don't think anyone except really hardcore DB fans even know what that is. Toei/Toriyama sure as heck have no clue, I'm sure.

The concept was introduced back in 2009, in 2014 Akira Toriyama mentions "Demon Realm" in one of many interviews, I don't recall what he says and what is the context, but I'm pretty sure that if he mentions it, then he remembers very well the Makaio and Makaioshin stuff. Heck, Toriyama even remembers Tsufurujins, something that he hasn't touched upon since his contributions back in 1990s for the anime staff.

I was reading about kais and the Makaiōshin yesterday. For those who don't know, the Makaiōshin are basically evil kai; who have been sent to live in the Demon Realm and rule over all the evil beings there.

The current ED is already incredibly annoying and it's just a horrible song imo. Now we're probably getting another one of those. The first ED (Hello Hello Hello) and third ED (Light Pink), I'd love some more of that.

Since the OP is never going to change, I thought they at least would give us a new ED that would suit the tone of the current arc.

That music sucks mostly anyway. Still, I am kinda happy with Super Opening, it has that shonen feel. Reminds me of One Piece's We Are.

Toriyama was the one who came up with them, and seeing how the information we have is basically just that they exist, he should have a better idea than any of us do.

Maybe. All we're told is that evil Shinjin are sent to Makai to be with Makaio(shin). There's nothing in the information itself that says these Shinjin ARE Makio(shin).

They don't "hire kids", that's not how it works. Toei has contracts with labels that use popular shows to give their artists a push. Tv anime is pretty much a weekly advertisement for bands and singers. They wouldn't even need to pay anyone when playing a song for a DB or One Piece is something truly special, especially for artists who are not that big yet.

Sometimes, songs still are specifically made for a show, like Super's opening, but they probably have to work with a few select names.

The reason Kageyama, for instance, doesn't work with Toei these days is just because his label, Lantis, is not affiliated with the studio currently. Although having Kageyama didn't stop them from using the incredibly fitting Zenkai Power for 199 episodes...

It's hard to beat the one we had now.
This band did the worst ending for Kai and now the worst ending for Super so far. They should be glad because this is a feat.

Are NEPs always in sequence, because I kind of have a feeling that Black's ring won't actually teleport him back to the present but more act like a video call type thing (sort of like Whis' staff) and he'll possibly issue a challenge to Trunks/make threats about destroying the future to goad him into training for a fight.

He probably means that due to eoz existing some of this stuff won't mean anything.

Eh it's still a threat. We would know everything was going to end up fine in the end regardless of EOZ because this is dragonball.

Yeah. The pacing for 47 & 48 was pretty good, but the NEP for Episode 49 left me feeling that we suddenly kicked too far into overdrive. Granted that's only based on our limited knowledge of the arc and what we've been shown thus far. But Toriyama's comment and the fact that we haven't seen Zamasu yet leaves me with hope that regardless of how things seem right now, that we're still only at the tip of the iceberg.

Goku Black reminds me of #19 and #20. Both arcs are different but I think it will be fun seeing what Toriyama comes up with by having the main (as far as we know) villain confronting the heroes so soon and maybe thinking he would have pulled the same stunt back then.
