Super Animation Catalogue 2.0
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #48]
Did anyone notice how ridiculously big Black's hair was when shown in the newly-animated flashback of his appearance? Almost like he was drawn by Uchiyama.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #48]
Me too. However I think he will be good in a episode where there is no action or a goofy comedic episode.Ajay wrote: I'm really having doubts about Toma's ability as a supervisor. I really don't like any of his episodes since 4.

Looks like Kenji Kuroyanagi is a big fan of Studio Cockpit because these shots are so Masunaga-esque.

SO GOOD.
Not sure what issues you guys are having with the preview. It looked mostly fine to me? Here's some shots: http://imgur.com/a/REUBo
The more I look, the more I'm confused as to whether it really is Karasawa. Some parts look like him, others don't. I give up guessing.

Hnngghhh I just can't express how much I hope Kuroyanagi comes back. His Super Saiyan 3 and his Vegeta look utterly fantastic! I also really loved Karasawa's Super Saiyan 2 in the NEP. Gives me classic Yamamuro vibes a little.

Kuroyanagi did some fantastic works in One Piece, his style isn't as blatant as, say, Naotoshi Shida's, but people who watched enough OP should recognize him. Really nice seeing him in Super, especially as the 2nd half of this episode didn't look as great as the first one, until he came to the rescue.

I noticed they have been doing this "white shades" more and more often in the last episodes.
I don't remember seeing this in other animes. Is Toei the only studio that uses this style?!
The promo poster also was this white shade on Black Goku's face. I could live without that.

A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

Next episode will be who?
Sometimes it seems the Tate but it is unlikely , until I think of Yamamuro

This screen capture in particular speaks to me. The expression is wonderfully transparent in what Goku is thinking.Ajay wrote:[spoiler][/spoiler]

So I have a question Ajay, which episodes and which parts in specific has Karasawa done? I hope you can reply

And Karasawa's work looks quite promising in the NEP.

Pretty solid episode, not the best but it never really god bad, just a few meh shots, some shots though were awesome, SSJ3 looked great, was totally not expecting Goku to use that form ever again.
Yeah, Kenji Kuroyanagi's stuff was great and is hopefully a sign of more talented animators starting to drip into the production. Onishi further proves he's a great choice for a supervisor, though I have to agree that it seems Toma was a one hit wonder.
Next week looks incredible!

They probably hired him in February or March to write out as much of the arc as possible while the Champa arc was still on going to help get the production on track.Sodhi wrote:Yet another script by Tomioka Atsuhiro. I guess he is the main writer for this arc. For which I am pretty happy about.
Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #48]
Thats what I thought too. I will not be surprised if all the episodes in this arc would have him as scriptwriter, and someone else is focusing on the next arc.ArchedThunder wrote:They probably hired him in February or March to write out as much of the arc as possible while the Champa arc was still on going to help get the production on track.Sodhi wrote:Yet another script by Tomioka Atsuhiro. Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #48]
It'd make sense, have him and King Ryu swap on and off on arcs for a bit to get the production completely on track. It already seems like things are WAY better now so who knows, the production might be perfectly normal by the next arc.Sodhi wrote:Thats what I thought too. Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #49]
Tomioka Atsuhiro will write a lot of consecutive scripts if he is devoted to a storyline or character. Just look at how many episodes he tends to write for Pocket Monster consecutively. I think he'll be sticking with Dragon Ball Super. My hope is that he gets to script a 100+ minute Trunks special, like he did for One Piece: Adventure of Nebulandia. This episode laid the ground work for a storyline that can be expanded upon in a new television special, after all.

Re: Super Animation Catalogue - [Updated with #49]
A Trunks VS Dabura special? That'd be cool, especially as something to put in between this arc and the next. They could probably expand the story quite a bit, probably make it so it's two fights against Dabra with Trunks losing the first one.JulieYBM wrote:Tomioka Atsuhiro will write a lot of consecutive scripts if he is devoted to a storyline or character. There's probably enough to do more than just a Future Trunks version of the Majin Buu arc. The first half of the special could be about how he defeated Darbra and the second could be about how he first met Black and retell his returning to the past to get help.ArchedThunder wrote:A Trunks VS Dabura special? Act I: Trunks enjoying peace after defeating Cell and meeting Mai.
Act II: Darbra and Babidi come to town.
Act III: Darbra thrashes Trunks and Mai helps him heal. A Kaioushin comes to Trunks to give him aide.
Act IV: Trunks, the Kaioushin and Mai prevent Majin Buu from being revived and defeat Darbra and Babidi.
Act V: Black appears. The special ends with Trunks escaping to the past.
There, a full 105 minute television special.

I'd say end it at the first confrontation with Black, going all the way through episodes 47 and 48 would be a bit much I think.JulieYBM wrote:There's probably enough to do more than just a Future Trunks version of the Majin Buu arc.
