"Dragon Ball Super" Series Official Announcement & Discussion Thread
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So it's confirmed Super is licensed?
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
It was actually on 4kids that It happened that way, but Parasyte is currently re-looping so they could replace it with that and bump everything up one or they could give toonami an earlier time slot to start. I really wouldn't throw out the possibility of airing two shows of the same franchise especially since it's Dragon Ball we're talking about. or they could just release Buu on home release and not air it.ryou766 wrote:Like what Hellspawn28 said, with such a small schedule, fitting two slots for Dragon Ball is unlikely.SaiyaSith wrote:I would hope they would play both, like they played DB and DBZ back to back.ryou766 wrote:Toonami would most likely replace Kai with Super. There's nothing concrete, but with Viz doing the manga and Sabat with that status, it's at least being worked on or negotiated etc.. It could already be licensed and Sabat's not allowed to say anything until the expo.Dbzfan94 wrote:So it's confirmed Super is licensed?

I just want to hear Sean's Black portrayal. lol
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I can't wait to see Sabat's Vegeta in Super because in Z he was basically a hard sack while in Super he does this dancing and makes a fool out of himself at times.ryou766 wrote:I just want to hear Sean's Black portrayal. lol

Not that hard to imagine since Sabat's done Kuwabara from YuYu Hakusho thoXeztin wrote:I can't wait to see Sabat's Vegeta in Super because in Z he was basically a hard sack while in Super he does this dancing and makes a fool out of himself at times.ryou766 wrote:I just want to hear Sean's Black portrayal. lol
On the flipside I am curious to hear Sean's Black voice.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I really do want to believe that Sabat's status yesterday meant something, but lets face it, those statuses are more of a joke than anything else.
They're simply there for comedic value, as he's tired of being asked over and over via social media. Today he's put "Wish I knew".
He'll be at Anime Expo for the "My hero Academia" panel this weekend, but that's likely to be it. Apparently, FUNi are teasing "big announcements" lol.
Last year was terrible from them, showcasing old licenses, then the infamous "Super panel" that began with Justin Rojas saying "this isn't something that's licenses" instant buzz kill.
Needless to say, we know they are trying to secure the license, and have been since late last year, but, again, from what we know, haven't been successful.
Questions need to be asked as to how France, Portugal, Taiwan & Asian English territories are able to negotiate far quicker with Toei (personally, I feel it boils down to finding TV networks to air it) FUNi supposedly have a good relationship with them, but they aren't able to get this sewn up.
Either way, they dropped the ball with the Majin Buu Arc of Kai, which dubbing was only completed earlier this year, as Sean was the last to record.
Now, Kai has taken second place to Super, and will be seen as a "consolation prize" to not getting Super when its announced.
FUNi has failed inconceivably with Dragon Ball Z Kai "The Final Chapters" I just hope they are able to begin Super before the end of 2016.

I think they'll finally announce Kai's Buu arc and maybe One Piece's 9th season.DBZ_Lee wrote:Apparently, FUNi are teasing "big announcements" lol.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

They're dubbing that too? Jesus christ all other dub companies might as well close up shop.DBZ_Lee wrote:He'll be at Anime Expo for the "My hero Academia" panel this weekend, but that's likely to be it. Apparently, FUNi are teasing "big announcements" lol.

They dub EVERYTHING it seems.
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I personally don't feel that announcing the continuation of One Piece is a big deal, it is a certainty (in my opinion) that will always be funded, and dubbed.sintzu wrote:I think they'll finally announce Kai's Buu arc and maybe One Piece's 9th season.DBZ_Lee wrote:Apparently, FUNi are teasing "big announcements" lol.
They're so far behind, that people just don't care enough-to a degree. I'm a big One Piece fan myself, but I know they will continue to push the sets out, so them making this type of announcement at Anime Expo would be of no surprise to me.
Though, you may very well be right, as it would sum up what FUNi regard as a "big announcement" something that the majority assumed would be a certainty anyway.

The 9th season is suppose to start after the time skip so it's not just another arc in the old timeline.DBZ_Lee wrote:I personally don't feel that announcing the continuation of One Piece is a big deal, it is a certainty (in my opinion) that will always be funded, and dubbed.sintzu wrote:I think they'll finally announce Kai's Buu arc and maybe One Piece's 9th season.DBZ_Lee wrote:Apparently, FUNi are teasing "big announcements" lol.

Definitely with ryou on this one. I want to hear Sean Schemmel's Black. Also I cannot believe no one immediately mentioned the Universe 6 fighters!

At least they're approaching the New World Arcs now.sintzu wrote:The 9th season is suppose to start after the time skip so it's not just another arc in the old timeline.
Dragon Ball wise, I can't see FUNi announcing anything. Definitely not Super.

Yes. It's been for a while in france and at least one Asian country.Dbzfan94 wrote:So it's confirmed Super is licensed?

I hope to God they skip the retellings of BOG/RoF in the dub. If not, add 30ish weeks delay to my hype.

We already know that they wouldn't do that. Chris Sabat went out if his way to say this. This isn't 2003 anymore.dblack wrote:I hope to God they skip the retellings of BOG/RoF in the dub. If not, add 30ish weeks delay to my hype.

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Who knows? Maybe the dub will be better than the retellings were (although they were excellent in my opinion
).
Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
I don't think the retellings were horrible, just when you've watched BoG/RoF subbed and dubbed, then watched all the retellings subbed...Id rather watch U6 arc and beyond a 2nd time than the retellings for a 4th time lol.Anime Kitten wrote:Who knows?
