When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
In the TV special it was said Goku died 6 months before the Androids arrival IIRC. But how about the manga? I heard somewhere Herms had it 6 months after Mecha Freeza's defeat.
Re: When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
As referenced from The History of Ever, there is no particular date cited.

Timeline II and III:Goku returns to Earth
--Freeza and Cold attack Earth. Returning from Yardrat in his spaceship, Goku Teleports to Earth so he can make it in time to defeat them. At this time, an insectoid spy robot controlled by Doctor Gero’s computer collects cells from Freeza and Cold. The computer adds these to the developing Cell.
--Shortly afterwards, Goku comes down with a virus-based heart disease and dies.
[Ref: In Chapter 335 Trunks explains how things played out in the original timeline. It’s implied that originally Goku Teleported to reach Earth in time. The Trunks TV Special has Goku die about 2 years later, after Trunks’ birth, rather than soon after returning to Earth like the manga says.]

So it's not impossible that Goten was born in Trunks' timeline, right?

Black isn't Goten. Lolahill1 wrote:So it's not impossible that Goten was born in Trunks' timeline, right?
But no it's impossible because Goten would have to be born the same year as Trunks but we all know he's a year younger

There's actually a question related to this that I couldn't find an official answer to:Dbzfan94 wrote:Black isn't Goten. Lolahill1 wrote:So it's not impossible that Goten was born in Trunks' timeline, right?

When was Goten conceived?
I've heard that he was born late 767, months after the Android Conflict in May.
Despite Toriyama not planning ahead, I find it impossible (unless we consider that Goten was born premature) that he could have been born later that same year if conception happened during the 10-day waiting period.
He should have been conceived well before May 12, 767, if we all agree that is the year he was born.
It also doesn't help that Chi-Chi didn't even look pregnant during that saga!
DRAGON BALL IS THE KING OF (Fighting) ANIME!!!!!!! In my opinion, at least...
My reaction to anything about Dragon Ball post-2013 that I don't like and/or is stupid.

Re: When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
I don't have an in-universe date but due to him being a year younger then probably 3 months after Trunks was born which means he would've been born on Trunks' 2nd birthday.Esfír Dedragón wrote:

July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

I'm just going to literally quote what I've said in at least 2 or 3 other threads now.
TheDevilsCorpse wrote:Goku would have been long dead before May AGE 767.
That said, Goten should have been concieved well before May AGE 767 too. Matter of fact, as I mentioned in another thread recently, since Goten is 7 at the Tenkaichi Budokai in the Buu Arc (May 7th, AGE 774), he actually should have been born before the Artificial Humans ever appeared in either timeline (May 12th, AGE 767). It's just one of those flubs that comes from Toriyama not planning ahead.
I still think the Goten!Black idea is ridiculous ever since it first popped up, but everyone can speculate how they like until the details are revealed.

With that in mind, where was Gyumao during all this? If he never showed up in the Manga (or anime) during this part, or even if he did, I guess you could kind of just write off Chi-Chi leaving Goten with her father, wherever he lives, to be safer since well. He'd be a baby at that point, and obviously, the Artificial Humans were coming for Goku, so being at their family house wouldn't be a good idea. It's not like we follow Chi-Chi a lot so she could be visiting off-panel/screen.
Yeah, Yeah Toriyama doesn't care about that sort of stuff and no planning ahead but unless there's something that makes it completely impossible, I can fudge something since I like Goten.
Re: When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
In the TV special of the history of Trunks, Goku died 6 months before the Androids' arrival, right?
Re: When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
I don't think so cause we see Vegeta and everyone there which means they or Vegeta would've already killed #19.ahill1 wrote:In the TV special of the history of Trunks, Goku died 6 months before the Androids' arrival, right?

Mind elaborating on that?sintzu wrote:I don't think so cause we see Vegeta and everyone there which means they or Vegeta would've already killed #19.ahill1 wrote:In the TV special of the history of Trunks, Goku died 6 months before the Androids' arrival, right?
But yeah ahill1 is correct, in the TV special Goku dies 6 months before the androids' arrival(which would be on May 12th 767, thus Goku should have died around November 12th 766).
Re: When did Goku die in Future Trunks' timeline?
Goku got sick when Gero and #19 arrived and if Vegeta and everyone else were at his house when he died it means that they already got rid of #19 and lost Gero.dbgtFO wrote: Mind elaborating on that?

Oh so that's what you meant..sintzu wrote:Goku got sick when Gero and #19 arrived and if Vegeta and everyone else were at his house when he died it means that they already got rid of #19 and lost Gero.dbgtFO wrote: Mind elaborating on that?
Well it's simple, the timing of Goku's heart virus differed between the timelines, as realized by Trunks.
In Trunks' timeline Goku got the heart virus ½ a year before the androids attacked(that would include #19 & #20, if one thinks they had a brief appearance), while in the main timeline the heart virus acted up on the very day, the androids were released.
