I just find it stupid to make more films when the show has been seemingly made to replace them. And the prospect of a film can especially go die in a ditch if it means a potential TV version retelling.

It depends how they do it.

BOG and ROF rettelings were cleary done with 3 things in mind:
- Have something to air after Kai ended and ride ROF Movie hype train, to keep money coming and don't lose the timeslot.
- Buy time until Toriyama came up with new stories and the staff prepared everything.
- Introduce the TV audience to the new stuff, since Champa arc happens right after BOG/ROF and some people/countries didn't saw/get the Movies.

Have a Movie happening between Champa arc and Future Trunks arc like said would be the best choice.
We could also get another Trunks Special, this time about the Buu arc in this timeline, like they teased by the anime.

There are some good options in the table, they just have to choose wisely.

I'm not saying it couldn't be good, it could be, I just don't think anyone who's good at picking what's an interesting story direction exists in the same nebula as the people managing Dragon Ball related things now.

I honestly think if there's a new movie it'll be an original one that has nothing to do with the Super anime but of course they'll have Toriyama write it. I'm waiting on Broly to emerge at some point via movie or Super since he's a popular character and Toei's giving suggestions like with this Trunks arc.

Well by the time the next movie would debut we'd likely already be a good ways into the next arc, so if it's a between arcs movie I'd like it to be between Future Trunks and the next arc.
A movie or special for Trunks's Buu arc would be awesome as well.

The reason why I want before Future Trunks arc is because I want the movie plot to happen in Universe 6, shortly after the tournament when things are still fresh.
Universe 7 has nothing more to offer for now, at least in the main timeline. With other 11 universes out there, I think it's time to move on.

They could literally do whatever for a new movie, a fun little adventure that does not impact the universe thus Supercan freely ignore it, like the Copy Vegeta "filler" arc or the Resurrection "F" movie.

I feel like a special about Majin Buu Saga in the future would be better. It would explain a lot more of stuff. If we get a new movie I hope the story is good and it isn't about someone that just comes to the earth to destroy it or conquer it.

Wouldn't that just be the same as the Majin Boo arc we had, it would just replace the two selfish Saiyans and the rusty Half-Saiyan. By an actual competent Half-Saiyan making the arc, Mirai Trunks vs Dabra. Seems pretty uninteresting to me. Rather have brand new content.

I'm kinda fearful that trying to get Mr.Toriyama to write a movie might push him over the edge. Too much work, in a short period of time. I rather have no movie if that's the case and two months of filler, while he takes it slow to write the next arc.

I'm in love with the animation for the new ending. Has anyone managed to piece together screen shots into one big image? It would make an amazing wallpaper if you have multiple monitors.

I'm not sure you can really even try until a clean version comes out? There's always text in the way and technically some movement and color changes going on too, that I imagine it would be difficult to stitch something together that doesn't look like Frankenstein's monster.

I thought by now we learned not to take the summery or previews literally. I mean, one preview said that Trunks was going to the past to get Goku and Vegeta, and Trunks didn't even know Goku was alive.

If I had to guess, Bulma will modified the time machine to fit more than one person. That was probably the original plan anyway.

I find it convenient that Gods are allowed to travel into the future but not the past. I'm actually even more surprise that Beerus is even going to let them do it after just recently meeting with the omniking. Like wouldn't that run risk of ticking him off and just wiping out the universe and all its timelines?

Well going to the past can mess up history so it kind of makes sense.

I'm hopeful that Beerus and Whis won't travel to the future due to them disliking time travel.
