My work on the Room 29 fandub trailer.

Discussion regarding the entirety of the franchise in a general (meta) sense, including such aspects as: production, trends, merchandise, fan culture, and more.

Very badass trailer! It's like getting hyped up for a big blockbuster hit.

As for that logo at the end... If you want to use more than just big letters, and want something alittle fancy-schmancier, I could give it a go.

I know Kaboom wanted me to help with the poster and DVD cover, but he never mentioned a logo, so you might want to ask him about it.

I want to say I'm relieved, but even so, you managed to use it to great effect. I must say the trailer has gotten me really hyped for this project.

The only two things I could possibly suggest would be a change of music; since, as people have stated, it is overused. But I'm equally tempted to say "just leave it" on that note because it does actually work for this. It's the kind of epic orchestral music that really puts shivers of anticipation on your skin. And I'm not going to assume you have the patience or availability to re-time it. So that's kind of a coin-toss for me right now. I liked it. Others might find it lame.

The other thing then would be the length. I don't know exactly how long a typical trailer is, but it seemed to (as generic Hollywood and FOX are prone to do) to use up all of the "super-cool" lines in the movie to reel in an audience. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, and of course, a lot of people have seen this movie by now and know what happens, but you definitely want to save some of the better dialogue for the actual movie.

That's all I've got to say for now. I look forward to the finished product.

Well, Conan muh man, I have just watched the trailer and can honestly say I'm glad you're the one doing it.

Not much hasn't been said that I wouldn't say, but overall, it's very nice. The music is a tad cliché, but a great choice nonetheless. Like others have said, just make sure it's considerably quieter than the voices and sound effects in the final version.

I'm truly sorry (to everyone)about all the technicalities on my part causing so many delays, but I promise once I'm up and running again, I'll get cracking immediately on both getting Goku casted so we can record this thing, and getting you your DragonBox footage somehow. If you're in need of better looking titles and stuff, too, I think I may be able to help with that in the future, as well.

Just for the fun of it, I put in voices to see if it fits. [Removed for bandwidth :)]

Hahaha my pronounciations are way off. Oh, and good luck with the volumes. I had to do a lot of shit just to hear the voices :)

I know this is your territory Conan, but I've selected a new piece of music for you to take into consideration. The script has been shown on-screen, too.

I also think the whole 'Requiem for a dream' is a bit overused... :?

Tell ya' guys what, if someone finds me a song on a suiting dramatic tone similar to "Requiem for a Dream" that's in the time length of 4:01 - 4:16, I'll consider using that in place. Anyone, feel free to PM me ideas with the title of what song and its artist you think can fit this. If I don't find anything else suitable before Goku's VA is selected and dialogue recording begins, Requiem stays. Sound fair?

While I'm at it, Nathan, Shinpan, or anyone who's interested enough to draw up a nice looking image with the title of the movie and DBZ logo, if it looks nice enough, I'll gladly use that in place of the Movie Maker style title that's there at the end.

For those of you whom are ready to somewhat begin work, you can record and send me your dialogue/ADR sounds as scripted for the trailer either now or when you feel you've practiced enough. Your audio files can be in the form of wav, wma, or mp3 if you wish. For the VAs who will have a part in the trailer, if you don't know my email address, I'll PM you with it (I don't exactly trust my email out in the open on my profile) for a place to send the files. A quick reminder of the cast list Kaboom, Kino, Rick, and Jack decided on, those underlined are who're to record for the trailer. Feel free to use the demo trailer to help you with your recordings in time length.

Bubbles – Kirbopher

Well, I finally watched the trailer, and I do think that Requiem for a Dream is a bit overrated, although it worked well with the video. The only problem I think is possibly the spoilers, although that is my own opinion.

I decided to do a bit of a 'teaser' trailer, using your footage. I hope you (and everyone else) likes it!!

Well, the thing I'm trying to do is similar to what you may see in Star Wars Episode III's big trailer. To give some nice spoilers, awesome lines in the movie, and dramatic action sequences...but not give too many important spoilers away (like if that Oozaru is Gohan or Tullece) and how Goku actually defeats him (as that Spirit Bomb scene I included was the weakened version). Overall, I don't think I overdid it on spoilers like I may have with my Dead Zone trailer. Also, about the length of the trailer, you gotta keep in mind this is being made to appear like a theatrical trailer, which in themselves actually go for nearly 5 minutes.
