Anyone have any idea who did these two cuts?
I feel like this was Karasawa.

And I'm thinking Higashide did this one, the noses remind me of his cut from 48.

These two cuts really felt like the highlights of the episode.

I'm not the best at spotting artist's styles (I'm learning though!) and my knowledge is pretty much limited to those who have worked on Super and I know this episode had some people who haven't worked on the show yet so I'm not completely confident who did these two, though I feel more confident about the second one being Higashide.

Really, really enjoyed the animation in #50. There wasn't necessarily one standout moment like the Trunks vs. Black cut in #48, but the entire episode just looked both on-model (well, mostly) and well animated.

Agreed, these two in particular were excellent.

If any of you guys are wondering why I wrote that, here's why. The GIF by ryou766 was being displayed as an image on my browser. I usually use Opera or Chrome on my smartphone, but I just decided to experiment with the Opera Mini browser. And this is what I saw.

I'm not convinced that is Higashide. I get that the general action resembles his cut from 48, but the style doesn't seem on-model enough for him. The close-up of Goku looks totally different.

I think that clip you attributed to Karasawa might actually be him. From Goku Black powering up to the end of that; I think that might just be Higashide. The effects shapes looks quite like his work on 48, too.

All of the on-model parts in episode 36 I had attributed to Miyako Tsuji , but if what I've been told is correct, the first-credited name on each episode if the animator with the most cuts. Higashide was top listed on that episode, and now second on this. I think we might have all been neglecting his talents until now.

Now that I can compare, I think the fight scene in 42 might have been him. The on-model parts of 46 -- an episode only done by three animators -- are almost certainly him, too. The only other animators were Hakamada and Yashima who both have very recognisable styles. Doesn't make sense that it would be any of them.

So we've now got Higashide and Inaba as two regular key animators who are worth paying attention to. Interesting. The latter hasn't popped up in ages. I wonder what he's up to.

Dear god, please change that image back to a link or put it in a spoiler tag. It's huge!

But yeah, dunno what you found so funny about it. Looks fine?

Do you have any examples of what Hakamada's style looks like? Looking at his credits it looks like we should see him popping up from time to time.
As for Inaba he's only worked on a single episode of another show since his last Super episode, so hopefully he'll come back. I'm most interested to see if Kuroyanagi Kenji will come back.

Sure. Hakamada hasn't changed massively from his time on Z under Studio Carpenter. Here's some of his work from #39.

Not sure what Karasawa did, but his cuts in previous episodes have been a lot modern looking.

I really like those Goku and Hit shots, but I don't remember anything in 42, 43 or 46 that looks like those.
I might go back through those episodes to see if I can spot anything.

As for that second GIF of mine, this is the main reason I thought it might be Higashide.

I can see why you'd think that, but once you get to the closer key, it looks nothing like him:

And if you compare Black in both episodes, he looks quite different:

Impossible to say for sure. I really don't know! Just making guesses based on what I'm seeing across his episodes.

Regarding the two shots of Black, it could have been because of the exposure to light in the present as opposed to Trunks' grim-looking timeline?

We're not talking about the colours. Just the way he's drawn. The noses are totally different and the shot in 50 gives Black a defined ear lobe. The line work also looks like a different artist. Just making a point that they're probably not drawn by the same person.

So what exactly makes a clip worthy of being posted on sakugabooru? I'm honestly surprised that nothing from episodes 38 and 50 are on there.
Also some of the webm links in the OP are dead.

To me, that cut DragonHermit cited is really good mostly because it is on model. The part where Goku avoids the blasts is a little lackluster, but I love the punching part.

Actually feel the opposite. I love the faces, don't get me wrong but the avoiding the blasts part seems more dynamic. They'res so much motion blur that it's hard to appreciate the punches

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Pretty much anything above average.

Episode 38 has some nice stuff in there, but realistically, the large majority of it is made up of stills. Cool-looking Tate stills, but stills nonetheless. Hit's power doesn't quite allow for lengthy action cuts.

50 doesn't surprise me at all. There's nothing above average in the episode, and so much of it hardly looked inbetweened. It's a small glimpse at what Super should look like on an average day with a good schedule. Here's a clip from Taboo Tattoo; if Super is going to do hand-to-hand combat, then that's the standard it needs to aim for (though it could probably skip the cool rotations).

I've submitted Tate's action cut from the Room of Spirit & Time before, and while it was approved initially, it was shortly removed afterwards as the community felt Toei's hard-on for motion blur ruined the cut -- they also felt unpolished Tate, while interesting, wasn't quite refined enough to meet his usual standard. All fair comments.

Could you let me know what links are dead? Gonna look into a permanent host for the sake of security.

Blu-ray Box 3 has received corrections! Thank goodness. Looks like 25 and 26 both have corrections in their episodes:

Takeo Ide seems to have handled 25's changes instead of Shimanuki.

You can clearly see Tate's redraw in 26

Awesome. I wonder if he refined the iffy frames in his own cut.

Oh wow nice. Didn't expect them too make any corrections. Those the only episodes that have changes?

Is it possible that Tate will work on either Episode 52 or 53?
