I had asked this question and someone pointed me here, but I did not see the answer (starting to get up in age). Here it is again and if someone could please point me in the right direction:

When you make the wish to change your name what does it actually say? I've had Goku's name changed about five times already and each time it's something new.

Far as I know, it's just a series of random Japanese Characters each time. You'd have to type out the symbols to someone who know's Japanese to get some meanings.

Are you f'real?? That has got to be the lamest thing I've every heard. The only ones that I could even describe are something that's in 16 and 17's first wished name. It's like a triangle without a bottom. That's the only thing I could make out. The print is very small even on my 25" TV.

I guess this is the right thread... I need help pulling off a specific move in the game. I got Piccolo's Mambu Mambu Rebirth (I think that's right)... the move list shows that I have to do a pentagram like motion with the controller stick or d pad. Yet it looks so confusing can anyone give me a "left, right, up, down, etc" description on how to pull this thing off. I think it's for both Piccolo and Piccolo Daimao.

I think on one of the earlier pages here someone did write it out but I not sure which page it was.

I'm not sure if it means anything to anyone now, but I came across this on wikipedia while looking up info on fighting games:
Wikipedia wrote: Mecha Freeza
Akira Toriyama, the original author of the series, was consulted to design an updated Mecha Freeza for the home release of the game. This updated design includes a large rocket-launcher on his right shoulder, packs of explosives on his belt, and razor-ish explosives down the length of his tail.

Has anyone heard anything a sequel being made for this game? Maybe PS2 or 3 or even PSP?

I dont know about a sequal but i have a question.

What is Kuririn's secret wish that is mentioned on this page.
http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/ps2/code/932665.html

I havent been able to unlock it for some reason (I have finished Z-suvivor with the double-or-nothing match at the end and get nothing).

So is this a true unlockable and what exactly does it do?

To have have a girlfriend or something like that. But I think Oolong sneaks in and wishes for underwear. I think you just need the seven dragon balls to wish for it, right?

I just looked through all 4 pages of this thread, so I hope this hasn't already been asked and I missed it - is there an easy way to beat Survival mode? Every time I make it to the Double-or-Nothing match, I get my butt handed to me by one of the five hidden characters. I've even got Senzu Bean learned on my Goku, I've got pretty close to max health when I reach this level (thanks to roulette anyway), and my BP is about 700,000 (a little higher but I can't remember the exact number). Is there a strategy to this or something, or am I just completely lame at this game? :?

If the double or nothing match is against Majin Vegeta then I never except it because he is frustratingly strong and a long distance character with an awesome close range attack plus he counters all the time

Anywho my strategy would be to just get in close and combo into Super/Ultimate attacks as much as possible and guard more often otherwise just keep throwing supers at them

Also senzu bean sucks for survivor especially for the last few rounds as the opponent won’t leave you alone long enough to use it properly try getting super cancel as it really seems to work well with Goku.

And how do I get Super Cancel? Is that something I wish for with the Dragon Balls, or is it a move I have to inherit from someone. Or maybe - please don't tell me it's one of his own learnable moves! If that's the case, I'll have to use a Shenron wish to get all my EXP back and reapply it.

I beleve you can inherit super cancel from Vegeta, Though you will have to completely level him up but its worth it for a decent Goku

I don't think BP counts for anything as far as gameplay goes.

Hello, I just joined up since I've recently got back into DBZ and have also been playing a lot of the games recently (Super DBZ, Budokai 3 and all of the Tenkaichi/Sparking games) and I can answer a few of the queries in this thread.

What is BP?
BP just seems to be a measure of your skill as a player. You gain it if you win and lose a smaller amount if you lose. Of course, since you won't lose that often against the computer when it comes to 1P games it's more a measure of how long you've been playing for than how good you are but if you play mainly VS matches I guess it would make more sense then.

You lose more depending on how low your opponent's BP is compared to yours and gain more the higher theirs is if you win. You could actually go into VS mode and put a low BP character against a high BP character and just beat them (since no one is controlling them) and you'll gain quite a lot of BP (though they'll lose a little). I have no idea why you'd want to do that but if you somehow know someone who would be impressed by a high BP in Super Dragonball Z then that's an easy way to impress them...

Custom Characters
As for the way in which you can't have all of a characters moves on the same custom character: I think that's good thing. If you slowly but surely just got more moves then eventually everyone's characters would be the same and they wouldn't really be a custom character at all. The entire game mechanic would also just be reduced to merely unlocking the "proper" version of that character. Not to mention that a lot of moves are pretty useless anyway so you're not missing out on much.

The Skill Tree
I have Videl with over 600,000 BP purely from levelling her and re-levelling her to try out different combinations of her skills and inherited skills. It's annoying that when you reset your character (but keep the exp.) you lose your inherited moves and also if you went a certain skill route that involved getting, say, 6 skills then reset the exp. and went a different route that only had 5 skills, the game actually removes the excess experience - it could have at least left it behind so you could do one skill inheritance.

Anyway, if you want to see all of the skills for a character the best way to do it is to first of all go the longest route then reset the exp. before going the shorter route(s). If you do it the other way round you have to gain another level or two again since there are more skills this time. You could even save the first character to one memory card, reset their exp, re-do them and then save that one to a separate memory card - a lot quicker than starting from scratch each time.

Move Inheritance
You can have one move inherited (or Battle Skill as I think they may be referred to) and one System Skill. So for example with Videl I have her with Goku's Kamehameha and Vegeta's Super Cancel. If you try and learn another skill from Shenlong such as "I want more speed" it will actually overwrite the System Skill you already have (and if you try to learn "An Opponent's Super", Yamcha's hidden move or Nappa's hidden move it will overwrite your inherited Battle Skill.

I'm in Hong Kong right now and I've gone around some of the malls around here. I notice Super DBZ's still in the arcades. They even have a card system too. Does anyone have pics of these cards? I have the Ps2 game already so I doubt i'm gonna bother to get one of these cards. I just wanna see how these cards look like.

I find it's a little easier if you have friends that play Street Fighter, those are the only people I can get to play, everyone else wimps out when they cant press two buttons and do a Kamehameha.
