Vegeta and Yajirobe

Post by Sin » Sat Dec 01, 2012 11:53 am

Weird thought but I don't really recall any interaction between these two after Yajirobe cut Vegeta's tail off, does anyone know of any scenes as I think it'd be funny to watch. I can't really imagine how such a scene would pan out but I'm sure it must've happened at some point during Z/GT/Films.

I dont think Vegeta encountered Yajirobe after that Saiyan arc.

He didn't. After that, Yajirobe hardly has any role at all in the story.

He shows up at the hospital I believe, after the fight with the Saiyans, while Vegeta's off in space.
He shows up in filler during the Freeza arc. Vegeta, obviously, is on Namek.
He shows up at Karin's during the Garlic Jr. arc. Vegeta's in space looking for Goku.
He shows up to give the main cast Senzu prior to the fight against #19 and #20 begins, and promptly has his car blown up. He returns to Karin's. Vegeta hasn't shown up yet.
He shows up after Gohan kills Cell and the warriors wish to resurrect all of Cell's victims, along with Karin. Vegeta's not there.
He hardly shows up in the Boo arc at all, and Vegeta spends most of that dead anyway.

Really? Not even in filler? Wow, missed opportunity for some comedy right there.

Maybe a possible revenge from Vegeta is the real reason why he doesn't want to leave Karin Tower? ;)

Yajirobe probably had no idea how close to this location Vegeta was during the Cell arc.

Wasn't Yajirobe in the plane with Bulma when 20 shot it down, and Trunks yelled at Vegeta for not saving them?

Unfortunately, no. That would have been quite a funny confrontation though.

You are correct. Yajirobe was in the plane with Bulma when 20 shot it down. Unfortunately Yajirobe was under some rubble at the time Vegeta and the gang were talking to Bulma about the identity of #20.

Everything's clear now ! Vegeta wanted to save his family, but he also wanted Yajirobe dead ! He had to make a choice, and he did...

This also explains why Yajirobe never quit the Karin Tower afterwards...accidents happen so easily. Grudgy Vegeta !

Vegeta's not the type to hold grudges. If he did, he would've gone after #18, having seven years to do so, but as far as we know, nothing happened between them after that initial fight. Vegeta just surpassed her by far, beat up Cell, lost his rival to death, sulked for a bit, and then continued training to surpass Gokuu and Gohan.

They were both in the JSAT Special, at the same place, though we didn't saw them actually meeting.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Does anyone else find it interesting in the first dub, their meeting was basically talking to himself? (Mr. Drummond did both back then).

I agree there's some great potential for Comedy in that scenario. I doubt Vegeta even remembers what Yajirobe even looked like though unless you told him what he did.
Kuririn: Hey Vegeta remember when you first came to earth?
Vegeta: Well yeah of course I would
Kuririn: Do you hold a grudge against Yajirobe for what he did?
Vegeta: I have no idea who you are talking about do you mean Yamcha?
Kuririn: No the guy with the sword who cut off you're tail
Vegeta: Oh...Him *Pats his rear end slowly*

Though I doubt Vegeta would care he'd probably just give him a passing glance of "Hey it's you" and not really say anything. Yajirobe would be kinda scared to see him again and would try to start a casual conversation.
Yajirobe: So... how's tail? I mean life! How's life?
Vegeta: Fine I guess
Yajirobe: Can I get you a Senzu or anything?
Vegeta: You could not remind me of the unyielding fury I felt when I was struck down by you twice.
*Yajirobe stares then gives an awkward laugh*
Vegeta: That means get out of my sight
Yajirobe: Gladly!
*Runs away the same way he did after he cut off his tail.*

In the Return of Cooler Movie, both of them were on New Namek, and at the End of the Movie Vegeta got a Senzu Bean Offscreen from Yajirobe before he did leave the others, so he seemed to have interacted a little bit with Yajorbe in this Movie even though we have not seen it.

Yajirobe never does anything anymore and good ol' Vejituh is one of the few relevant characters these days so I woudn't be surprised if they'd never even met.

I didn't even notice how long it had been since they last saw each other.
