It was satisfying seeing Vegeta him up.

This was the only thing that redeemed it from being a complete waste of time.

How was it a waste of time? It was an entertaining movie with nice animation and a lot of action and humourous moments.

Yeah from an In-Universe point of view it didn't add as much as Battle of Gods did but it added enough and it doesn't particularly matter because just a couple of months after we had a new series which has added plenty of stuff.

The art and animation were great, the problem was it didn't move the main story foreword in any major way and it brought back an old villain who had the potential to but instead they treated him like a side villain.

Maybe a waste of time wasn't the rite description so a waste of potential might fit better.

With all this talk about F, did anyone else realize that BOG's Goku VS Beerus was actually incredibly short despite how much they built up to it? That was something I liked about the arc version better.

It was a bit short but the quality and diverse locations made up for it.

Super's was unnecessarily long and the sea location was extremely boring compared to where the movie went.

With all this talk about F, did anyone else realize that BOG's Goku VS Beerus was actually incredibly short despite how much they built up to it? That was something I liked about the arc version better.

Honestly the arc dragged the fight on way too much. Movie was fine, it was straight to point and we don't have to sit through 20 mins of beam struggles.

And about the long fight, why is it not a problem for Goku VS Frieza?

I don't see why that's such a bad thing. All the other movies weren't even canon. The One Piece movies that Oda does aren't even canon and they're good.

I don't know if Battle of Gods maybe spoiled people when it came to that because it introduced so much and maybe people were expecting it again.

And about the long fight, why is it not a problem for Goku VS Frieza?

This is my problem! I don't think we've had Goku get his clothes demolished like that since Namek, I don't know why but it just makes the fight so much more intense. I'm hoping in this Black arc we get to see the RoF outfits destroyed to give them an iconic scene. Everyone always points to that first SSJ transformation with the destroyed outfit of Goku as the most memorable/iconic moment. About the long fights, generally speaking I think it's because of Freeza's character. The guy literally is the biggest trash talker in all of DBZ, Cell acted too intelligent to throw a lot of insults back in forth, and Boo was like "Me eat you!" so not much of a conversation there. Goku and Freeza during Namek would throw a punch or two, stop fighting, trash talk, more punches, repeat which caused it to drag on and on. Even without the filler it's decently long.

I'd say there was at least one per arc though in dbz. Gokus Kamehameha Vs vegetas galic gun, goku Vs freeza, gohan's best down of cell, future trunks slicing up freeza, Majin vegeta Vs goku, ss3 transformation.

But to be similar in regards to that is a bit specific. The movie did give us 3 new characters, a first look at Hell, new forms for Goku, Vegeta and Frieza, information on Frieza's army and what came to be of them after Frieza's defeat, Krillin's profession etc.

What more did the movie need? People said they were disappointed because they were hoping they'd go to another Universe but they're doing that now.

Speaking of, I'm probably not the only one who doesn't want Vegeta to go Super Saiyan 3, but I could be wrong. I think Super Saiyan, SSJ2, and SSJ Blue are enough for him. (Besides SSJ4 of course.)
