Don't get your hopes too high, just in case. Trust me, I learned that the hard way.
I also doubt it'll be written by Toriyama! I don't know though didn't he start on that Black arc a while back? He's probably had a few weeks of free time.

If they are going to announce the new movie this month, I sure as heck hope they will continue the production well into the next summer when they release it on the theaters. The productions of God and God and Resurrection 'F' were absolutely horrendous because they simply didn't enough time to polish things up. Naruto: The Last blows them out of water with its superior production.

The Last had about the same production schedule. I remember some of the character designs being dated just five and six months before it was released. The only difference is that they brought on more animation supervisors and good key animators. If the production assistants, director and animation supervisor could bring on good animators I think six months would be easier to manage for the next Dragon Ball film. The pain-in-the-neck is that nobody likes or respects Yamamuro Tadayoshi.

I don't remember any horrendous part on both films, I enjoyed watching them on the cinema, also, you can't compare Naruto to Dragon Ball. Naruto's characters doesn't have the same level of detailing like DB's characters. Besides, there were more fights on the DB films than The Last.

Does anyone else find it strange that we haven't had any interviews during this arc since the announcement of the FT arc? Toei's being all quiet, too quiet... You'd think they'd have said something about the boosted ratings or have Toriyama throw a statement around somewhere. :shh:

The marketing for Super as a whole and even RF were nothing compared to what they did with the BOG movie.

I think the reason for that was due to BOG being the 1st new movie in 17 years and Toriyama's main new story in 16 years so everyone at Toei and Toriyama were excited about it cause it was a big event for the franchise unlike now cause DB being around is the norm so they probably don't feel like they have to push it too hard.

It would be funny if they end up announcing a live action movie reboot instead  . I doubt that will happen anytime soon given how DBE was a box office failure ( $57.5 million is not very good for a huge brand name like Dragon Ball. Not to mention, most of the money came from China and Japan. Fox probably didn't get all of their money back to recover the budget including marketing). DBE created a stigma that may never be recover.

For a new movie, they could do one without Toriyama and have it not be tie in with the TV show like DBZ Movies 1-13 where. Those movies are pretty made to be their own stories and didn't interfere with the TV show.

To be honest, I'm plain against a movie the type of B.o.G. or FnF. I don't want a movie to be adapted into a story arc later on, only to make us comparing one with the other. I would welcome a parallel story in a movie format, though. But I'm not sure how could they create a Champa-like villain, or a Black-like... Or would they make a 4th Broly movie? I hope they won't.

I'm still waiting for Dragon Ball in Super...

In that regard, I think the filler with Planet Potof and Copy Vegeta would've been a good movie plot, but they already fucked it up. I honestly don't know how can they make a good storyline with all these things going on in DBS.

Maybe a movie about Planet Salad? Hell, they had about 12 universes to mess around with plots. I hope they don't make a new movie with a story arc then used in Super.

If we get a new story and not a Champa arc adaption then it'll more than likely be turned into a mini arc at least.

Bardock got a small chapter, Freeza got a movie & Future Trunks is currently getting a new arc so Broly will get something sooner or later.

Yeah, I really doubt that. There isn't any real indication of that and I don't see why OVAs, movies or anime arcs about other old characters would mean that.

I hope you're right.

Why wouldn't it ? They're bringing back old popular characters so why wouldn't they bring him back ? he's arguably more popular which means more toys and cards getting sold so I think it's only a matter of time before we see him again.

I'm still of the opinion that if another movie were to be made it should absolutely be done by Toriyama and still be a part of the series canon. It wouldn't be difficult because they could just have the movie be set between the time skip of two arcs in the series.

I thought it would be interesting if they were to have a movie where Cabba shows up and offers to take Vegeta and company to Planet Salad like what was mentioned in the Champa arc and then they'd all go on a vacation of sorts and they'd see how the U6 Saiyans lived but eventually some trouble would come about.

Perhaps there could be a small group of evil Saiyans who wanna take over the planet like how it got started in Universe 7 but this time because of Goku and Vegeta they'd be able to stop them early on saving that universes Saiyans from going through the same fate.

It'd be a good character arc for Vegeta because it was possibly his bloodline that led to the war and destruction of their Saiyan home world but now he'd be fighting to save another Saiyan home world, it'd bring him full circle.

It'd be a self contained story that could be canon but wouldn't have to affect Super going forward.

I think that plot line is being saved for Super, if we get a new movie it'll probably be like RF or the old movies where it'll just be a villain showing up and losing at the end with no real plot or character progression.

Sinopsis in the Fuji TV site. Can someone translate this please? ^^:

タイムマシンの修理を待つ間、悟空に諭されひと時の休息をとる未来のトランクス。未来で死別した武術の師である悟飯のことが気になり会いに行きたいと願うが…。

Well they couldn't do to much with it because the movie would likely come out in most other countries before Super even began airing so it couldn't tie itself in too much with previous arcs because it'll confuse people and they can't have it tie in with the future of Super too much either because not everyone will see the movie.

So it would have to be a self contained story but there's plenty they could do, they could have a plot were they travelled to Universe 3 to fight someone there. They'd have to do something to make it interesting at least, I would like to see them go somewhere for a change rather than the villain coming to them because if were not gonna get much plot progression then it would be nice to see new worlds and races to make up for it.

I've been patiently waiting for our third movie announcement since July started.
I need that so much. :P
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.
