I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.
The Future Gohan flashback and Future Trunks SSJ transformation scene was kinda disappointing. I think how Z handled that moment was much better. The Vegeta training scene was very well done.

I still haven’t lived down going, “Who the heck is Tao Pai-pai?” that one time I was talking with Ei’ichiro Oda-kun. But the fact that there are still people reading the series after all this time… All I can say is; “thank you.” Really, that’s all.

And that you also have IMMENSELY skewed and comically backwards priorities in what you think is most important and needed to make a good Dragon Ball story.

Yeah, pretty sure they don't want to lose time with something that is alredy done (just look at RoF arc)
So having just two key animators means they had plenty time to do it, right?
Ajay wrote:No, I'm with you there. It wasn't very good, but well, it's a small-staffed episode.
Probably would have been better to have Higashide animate that entire section himself, but then you'd lose out on the cool Vegeta training moment.
Considering the special already exists and that segment is beautifully animated, I don't blame them for focusing the attention on something new.
I kinda preferred them using the black and white effect they did in the previous episode. I know the 2 different arts would clash but it was a scene worth remembering.
God Higashide is insane. I'm so happy that Super has someone like him around right now. I think I'm going to do a Roundup segment on him sometime, especially if he continues to stick around. It would be really nice if he was given some more time for a really big cut sometime though, I'd love to see him at his absolute best.
Yeah, the flashback didn't look great. It doesn't really bother me though, I wasn't expecting to and actually hoped they wouldn't pour a ton of time into something that already exists. You can never take that moment away or ruin it, it'll be there forever.
The flashback was actually short so i'm satisfied that they did not focus that much on that scene, but oh boy that Vegeta scene was wonderful. Higashide is the man!
:O people are actually getting mad at the NEP because of how poor some drawings of Goku SSJ2 vs Zamasu look and as every week calling super's animation shit. It gets tiring every week reading the same comments -.-
Not bad for what it was, Higashide continues to be great though. Yashima's stuff still got pointy a lot, but it seems like he's pulled it back from that style a bit compared to his last two episodes, hopefully he to get back to his style he had for the first two arcs of the show.

I wonder if Higashide will ever become a supervisor for the show. I imagine right now they want to keep him as a regular animator, but if the show ever gets to the point that its schedule is actually normal I'd bet he'd be at the top of the list for new supervisors.
Nothing in the NEP looked like Otsuka Ken, so his upcoming episode is still a mystery. Maybe we'll be lucky and an upcoming important episode will actually have extra time in production and he's working on that one.
Ajay, just noticed an error in the OP, under Manabe you list 49, it should be 39.
Speaking of, I wonder if we've lost him, he's done an episode of Sailor Moon and 3 Concrete Revolutio episodes since episode 39 of Super.
We already lost Koyama and Oka, it'd suck to lose him.
EDIT: Also just noticed that you missed that Kitano was a supervisor on 13 as well.
