Higashide's work looks like he drew super-rough key animation that Yashima and the second key animators had to touch up. Vegeta's face particularly looked Yashima-esque.

Doesn't look like that to me, in that action cut Vegeta's face only looks a bit off when he shoots the two blasts and none of it looks anything like Yashima to me.

Good episode coming from Yashima, Trunks' transformation was good considering it was animated by him, I can see a lot of progress in this animator if we compare this episode with episode 9, hope he keeps this way.
NEP didn't look very good to me, but I think they are going to pulish some things up in this free week

Did you forget that in the Z version it was a movie/tv special. I'm starting to get a little tired of people comparing movie quality animation to the series.

The only shot that looked off to me that wasn't an in between was the full shot of Goku's body as his punch was being redirected by Zamasu.
Also the first two times we had a week off the episode after was pretty poor looking, so I don't think anyone should expect the extra week amounting to anything.

This looks better than the cut from Battle of Gods where Vegeta was doing a similar thing in the gravity room.

That's because the key animator wasn't subject to direct interference from Yamamuro Tadayoshi, to say nothing of being a good animator in the first place.

TV episodes can looks just as good as movies with the right talent and proper scheduling and pre-production.

This cannot be stressed enough. Hell, we could a name a dozen episodes of Naruto that outclass any Dragon Ball film.

Can you name them? I think it's stretch to say a well done Naruto episode outclasses any DB film.

Naruto Shippuden Episode 375 comes to mind when I'm thinking of great animation in that series. Kakashi vs Obito is magnificent. Best animated fight in Naruto IMO.

If you're not familiar with Naruto, why say it's a stretch? Naruto's best looking episodes have movie quality animation & fantastic direction.

Dragon ball movies are nothing spectacular in the grand scheme of things.

Naruto puts many great animators on singular episodes instead of spreading them around all over the place.
It utilises its talent properly.
As I mentioned before, this has produced outstanding results.
This is something the super fanbase doesn't want for some reason.
They'd rather stick with mediocrity throughout.

Damn, why do they draw Gohan's eyes so small?
Decent episode animation wise, of course the bit with Vegeta in the gravity chamber is the best part, as it has action in it, while everything else does not require bringing out the big guns to animate.
Next episode looks promising and perhaps they can use the break to polish it a bit more? It seems as though they changed Trunks' expression from when he observed Great Saiyaman slightly from last episode's preview.

Just upload them to http://www.imgur.com.
It's a free service, that does not require you to be a user there, just keep in mind to save the deletion link, so you can delete it in the future, if you suddenly decide not to have it up anymore.

The difference is really big not only is the facial expression off , the dramatic feel and tone has significantly been downgraded.

The TV special was one of the best looking televised Dragon Ball animations in the series history. Of course it's going to look significantly better than a flash back from Dragon Ball Super, a show with a rough schedule and with much better animation being dedicated to more important segments of the episode rather than something we've already seen before.

I know plus even if the special was just a regular episode in Z it would still look significantly better and Trunks looks little younger in Super in that scene guess we have to deal with this plastic looking art. :D

I wonder if Tate is getting extra time again, nothing in the NEP looked like him. Maybe the new schedule is keeping everyone on the same rotation except Tate, who gets more weeks.

All the more reason to wish Super was made in the 1990's. Imagine how good it would be?!
