"Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing

I didn't watch it live or anything, but it seems One Piece Heart of Gold had a ~2 hour block and ended up being ~105 minutes according to the Crunchyroll version streamed. The new edition of Resurrection "F" also has a 2 hour and 10 minute block, and the original film was 93 minutes...could that mean we get a little over that with the new animation? I really don't want it to be a fairly short addition.

Oh good point. Forgot about adverts. Also according to my anime list the duration for the OP special was 2h10..... Doesn't look like we'll get much then. 12 mins as JulieYBM said.

I appreciate new Dragon Ball material, this one in particular doesn't excite me at all. Pulling resources to show this story when there's so many other story's to tell, which are much more interesting in my opinion.

While the RoF movie is quite fun if one can look past the writing, please let it rest for a while. We had the movie and shortly after the retelling, they're going overboard with it. The movie came out less than a year and a half ago.

Hopefully we get some nice fighting and/or some character development from Trunks from this.

I figured that this special would only last twelve minutes. It'll probably serve as an opening prologue, like the new material for the extended edition of Episode of Alabasta did.

Originally the whole Trunks/Freeza battle scene was played from Freeza's perspective, so this time they might show Trunks' perspective. It would be cool if Toei animated Goku from Trunks' timeline fighting Mecha Freeza.

I'm not so sure that it's a separate special based on what Herms was saying. Sounds like it's additional footage within the film itself.

I guess they're making the Freeza death flashback section more flashy or something? I'm not really sure. It's weirdly vague.

I would suspect that the special air first, followed by a commercial break, then the full original film beginning. That's the best fit description for the film being 'uncut'.

I think Super reused the original footage, though... much to everyone's confusion considering the above exists.

No, that scene was probably done by Tadayoshi Yamamuro himself. The only scene Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru did was the Kamehameha that killed Freeza.

An animator directing and acting as animation supervisor is the sort of thing that would usually be a big event if the animator in question was actually good. Instead we get Yamamuro Tadayoshi, a bad animator who nobody respects and who respects nobody. I hope Yamamuro has no hand on this special segment.

That doesn't make much sense, they were announcing on the magazine that a Trunks special will be broadcasting. It seems we have to wait 1 month to figure it out.

I'm just going by the official tweet from the Dragon Ball Super Twitter account.

Herms' interpretation:

Resurrection "F" airs on Fuji TV August 27th with new retelling of Future Trunks and Freeza's battle, from Trunks' perspective. The Trunks thing is described as an "added part", so it sounds like it'll be a new part of RF rather than a separate special. Apparently.

I'd definitely love some extra clarification, though. I imagine we'll get some once V-Jump starts arriving in people's homes over here.
