Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
When someone tells you, "Don't present your opinion as fact," what they're actually saying is, "Don't present your opinion with any conviction. Because I don't like your opinion, and I want to be able to dismiss it as easily as possible." Don't fall for it.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
It's nowhere near Videl vs Spopovich levels of brutal. Bra isn't in any imminent danger. If she's really in trouble and Cold seriously intends to kill her, she can just go Super Saiyan and win instantly. Obviously, that'd make her lose, but if there's no other choice, you'd assume she'd do it.
I could have gotten into anything...and yet I chose the story aimed at young Japanese boys about martial arts, and later about super-powerful aliens punching each other really hard.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
So, is she actually vomiting blood, rather than just having bloody gums? Seems to be the case, since this only started after a very hard punch to the gut. If so, she probably has a punctured lung due to her ribs shattering and will be dead soon without quick medical attention.
Which wasn't even the fifth most brutal fight in the manga.MozillaVulpix wrote:It's nowhere near Videl vs Spopovich levels of brutal.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Not necessarily. Coughing up blood in a comic usually means a character has taken a lot of damage from an attack, sure, but it doesn't always mean the attack was fatal. Certainly, a comic is under no obligation to follow realistic medical conditions with 100 percent accuracy. Especially when we're talking about super-powered alien hybrids in a Dragon Ball fan comic.RandomGuy96 wrote:If so, she probably has a punctured lung due to her ribs shattering and will be dead soon without quick medical attention.
Heck, Uub shrugged off losing his arm fairly well all things considered.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
The original manga had more/worse gore and the amount of blood in DBM seems adequate to the injuries shown.ekrolo2 wrote:It's not a gorefest but I think it goes out of its way more often to make things more brutal.rereboy wrote:It really isn't.ekrolo2 wrote: DBM which is already quite a bit bloodier about its violence than the manga was.
If anything, it's some elements of the DB franchise (not so much the manga, but even there) that go out of their way to minimize the blood. A good example of this is the scene of Radditz being defeated... The manga had blood but not much and it didn't look enough to be an adequate amount to those kind of injuries... The DBZ scene had significantly more blood and it honestly looked a much more adequate amount of blood to those kind of injuries... And then Kai had no blood at all. You can say that DBZ went out of its way to be more bloody but imo it's the others that go out of their way to not show an adequate amount of blood for those injuries.

I usually appreciate the humor in your art, Scarz, but that first picture... well... it might be pushing things a tad too far. Especially with the direction this thread is taking.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
You're right; that is too much. Sexual titillation from a woman's agony is never good; I mean, sex is great and all, but, the more you indulge in any fantasy (good or bad), the harder it's going to be to keep yourself from acting it out one day. So really, you have three options:ryou766 wrote:I might be fucked for saying this, but Bra looks hot in that panel with her all bloody.
1) Act it out, to the other person's detriment.
2) Keep holding onto said fantasy while never fulfilling it; this will be to YOUR detriment.
3) Let go of it, and find something healthier to indulge in. Just like swapping cigars for a nicotine patch

You're taking my post way out of context. I'm not indulging in any fantasy, lol. My post was a bit too much, and I apologize for that, but I ask that you ignore it.
