Considering Trunks already has Blue hair I doubt he's going to achieve it. Like how Goku showed off SS3 to Trunks, Vegeta is probably doing the same. Still can't get how weird that form looks with the old outfits.

According to DBZ.com Vegeta is upset with the Goku and Co's negligence of Trunks and takes it upon himself to train him. Idk how accurate this is since they originally posted in French.

Well we know Vegeta is going to train Trunks, and we know he's pissed about Black killing future Bulma and beating up Trunks, and if the above is true he's explicitly training him because he's been ignored and probably wants him to be able to better protect his future. Half breed Saiyans were more easily able to attain Super Saiyan than Goku and Vegeta, so who's to say that half a day in the RoSAT with Vegeta properly training him wouldn't be enough for him to attain Blue.
It's called the Future Trunks arc, honestly I've been expecting him to get Blue from the beginning.

I don't know, that's what I got from the translation I did.
Either I read it wrong, or the writers on Super themselves are taking Vegeta and Trunks in this direction to give Trunks a power-up or something?
