You can try sludging through that awful translation if you want some additional factoids, but basically there's a new MMORPG being produced by a newly formed Korean development house.

Apparently Akira Toriyama himself is personally supervising the development with Bandai and Bandai Korea, but they're still in search of a publisher.

Honestly, I can't resist the allure of this concept (as my registration on many horrible BYOND games will attest to), but I can't say that these screenshots instill too much confidence in me:

They of course make sure to cover their asses and say these are "work in progress shots", so I guess it's too early to judge how this will turn out. All I know is that right now things aren't boding too well for Dragon Ball's first online entity.

This looks awseome but if people from this forum get Player versus player could have a totally new meaning:

The only thing I see that could go wrong is lack of customization.

But that's only based off of these screenshots, because in the second one, the two Saiyans look exactly the same. Hopefully there's enough options to keep things "unique".

Same thing I was thinking. I think this expresses such fears rather well.

Though I admit I would probably create and play a Saiyan character, I know I would try to make him at least look unique and original...

-They say a Online DBZ RPG was imminent.
-There will be an open beta testing, ???(I can't tell when...sorry.)
-They want to stay true to the Dragon Ball visual style, hence the cel-shaded look.
-There might be some kind of marriage system.(Not sure on this one.)

As much as I enjoy DBZ and video games... I can't see how this is going to work out in a good way.

I foresee DBZ Sagas Online... with lots of disappointed gamers.

And I wouldn't count on this coming to America. My friend and I were hopeful for a long time that the .Hack MMO or the Gundam MMO would come here... no luck.
