I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I still think there is so much this arc has to offer, but if it doesn't deliver the goods when it comes to big payoff(s), I will worry about the future of Super.kinisking wrote:I hope next episode hits that mark. Gohan was so boring to watch that he affected the next episodes where he doesn't even appear too.kinisking wrote:Looks like Gohan's not the ratings killer we all thought. Even with the promise of a fight, this episode didn't do much better.

If pacing was the only problem, One Piece would fell off the chart with Dressrosa. This arc is much better paced than ROF and Champa arcs were.namekiansaiyan wrote: This arc is to slow with nothing happening and that is probably going to make the ratings lower.
A world without Dragon Ball is just boring.

This arc has great pacing. It just seems slow paced after what we've gotten

Yeah, the pacing now reminds me more of Kai, where as the previous original arc felt like they were trying to go as fast as possible.kinisking wrote:This arc has great pacing. It just seems slow paced after what we've gotten

5.0 to 6.6 is a pretty relevant rise of 33%.kinisking wrote:Looks like Gohan's not the ratings killer we all thought. Even with the promise of a fight, this episode didn't do much better.
Not that the content matters, it's perfectly common to have one lower episode once in a while. And we're back to excellent numbers this week, just a little below the arc average (6.7 or so).
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Why do the last two shows on the list drop from a 4.2 all the way to a 3.0? Is there nothing missing inbetween that? That's a 12 point gap for no show.

Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
I don't know where people get the idea that Gohan EVER liked to fight. He never did. Not even when Cell was about to kill everyone. He had to fight because he was Goku's son and he was very strong naturally and ~talented~ with his ~hidden power~ or whatever, but he was never a fan of fighting the way Goku, Vegeta or even Goten and Trunks are. In fact, he's probably the only Z warrior who has stated many times both in the manga and the anime that he doesn't like fighting. Of course, he'll fight to protect the people he loves or as the Great Saiyaman because he wants to defeat the bad guys, but fighting in and of itself isn't exciting for him in the way it is for Goku. With all this in mind, I still can't believe there are people out there going "Chichi ruined Gohan because she forced him to study and abandon his fighting" because I know everyone loves to hate on her, but come on, Gohan has always been a nerd, this isn't brand new information. I feel like some fans are in denial. Obviously, he's my favorite character and of course I wish he would train again and kick ass because I love seeing him around, but it makes sense for him to not be. Granted, I thought after the Resurrection of F arc he would really train with Piccolo and get back in action, but alas. He could still be part of the main cast by being the smart person around, but Bulma has taken that spot too so I guess Gohan's really gone for good. I love fluffy filler episodes in Super because I get to see my favorite character being his super dorky self, and I think it's kind of hilarious how Gohan's episode are basically out of a slice of life anime.

6.6 looks good, beating D. Conan seems the best we can do.

Oh for some reason I thought it was 5.7 xD. Still, last episodes rating doesn't seem as low anymore.Araki wrote:5.0 to 6.6 is a pretty relevant rise of 33%.kinisking wrote:Looks like Gohan's not the ratings killer we all thought. Even with the promise of a fight, this episode didn't do much better.

A few things took a tumble this week, especially that Chiba Maruko.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Damn another low score? Even as a Gohan fan I would be more happy knowing he was the cause of the ratings dropping rather than Super as a whole dropping. Reallt starting to think that's not the case though.

These breaks might be the main reason why there's been a view drop.
Re: Dragon Ball Super: TV Ratings Discussion Thread
Hopefully. But hasn't one piece been going through the same breaks?nite_jay wrote:These breaks might be the main reason why there's been a view drop.

One piece and Super always have same breaks. Unless some major news happens and they have to cancel a show.

Omg 7th......That's bad......
Obviously the show won't get cancelled but Jesus.....a good vegeta vs trunks episode was so low......?
Is finally the bad reputation and mediocre animation affecting the ratings to the point where good episodes are getting ignored?
I hope Rose will make it up to 8 because without good episode I can see Dragonball falling from the top 10.
Wake up Toei!!!!!

One Piece is heading into a new arc in the anime, plus it's atm an untouchable franchise.kinisking wrote:Hopefully. But hasn't one piece been going through the same breaks?nite_jay wrote:These breaks might be the main reason why there's been a view drop.
I do partly blame the breaks on the drop with Dragon Ball Super though. We've got another one this week and then a third the week of September 18th.
I also partly blame it on Pilaf Gang, but that part might just be because I can only handle them in small doses and would rather more time be devoted to training.
