Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
With all these returns of old characters, and giving tchem final conclusion, i think it would make sense, to bring back Garlic Jr. too, and get rid of him for good, two scenarios could happen:
1. He gets so powerful, it takes both Goku and Vegeta team up, to be able to stand up to him, as they fight, rest of cast look for Dragon Balls, and wish away his immortality, Beerus and Whis make sure both Earth and Namek Dragon Balls are altered, so no one coul dwish for immortality again, and be treat to everyone
2. Same thing happen, but Goku, Vegeta, Beerus and Whis are away in different Universe, and it is up to Piccolo and Gotenks (Maybe Gohan too?) to fight Garlic Jr. Then it goes like in 1st scenario
Would yo ulike something like that to happen? It could lead to limit power of Dragon Balls, and it wouldn't be too far fetched to make Garlic Jr. as powerful as SSJG, if Freeza could do it in few months, i can't see why not Garlic Jr. Who had more time, and was in more harsh environment

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
I did not particulariy love Garlic Jr filler arc (maybe partly due to the souls of previous Kamis attacking Kami was quite nonsense no me)... however what you said could be a possible nice plot (due to someone else of the cast doing "something"). But I feel unlikely that Beerus and Whis do modify Dragon Balls (also because in Super, Shenron already seems less powerful than in Z, other than the gods interferring too much). I would keep Beerus and Whis out of a such arc.
But we already had the same villains returning back in oavs, in gt and in RoF arc. Maybe going forward with new characters is better.

His story was never part of Toriyama's timeline so they can't bring back someone who never existed.
July 9th 2018 will be remembered as the day Broly became canon.

No.
Super has been at its best with the current arc. It shouldn't be held back by rehashing any more old stories.

Hell no. What could Garlic Jr contribute to the plot? Super has been on one hell of a roll since the Universe 6 arc and things has only gotten better since the Future Trunks arc, so the last thing we need is a movie/filler character returning for... reasons.

I hope Broly returns, places Goku Black between his pectorals, and pops him with them.

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
No, I think Garlic Jr is just another bland villain that shouldn't be brought back. Bringing back characters, while OK to some extent, seems to be a new obsession of Toei; example, Future Trunks coming back in Super and SSJ4 Broly in DB Heroes. Exactly what the fans wanted. I see bringing back old characters as fan service to some extent.

I highly doubt it will happen. He didn't show up in Kai and most of the TV viewers will be like "Who the hell is this guy?!".

I hope not, I mean the movie was alright but that was it, no need for him the come back... Let him stay there in the dead zone and live happily ever after.

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
Probably the only way he could return at this point is if somebody summoned the Dragon and ask him to return. No way he could return under his own power...nor would anybody really want Garlic Jr to return except possibly as a punching bag.

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
Every villain deserves to return as a movie villian, except for Frieza has to return in main story again cause he is the real Villian Goku and Vegeta really can't stand. ROF should be an indication for Frieza to return again to live up to the real DBZ Spirit.

I'm gonna assume this question is a joke but I'm still answering it seriously: No, it shouldn't.coola wrote:With all these returns of old characters, and giving tchem final conclusion, i think it would make sense, to bring back Garlic Jr. too, and get rid of him for good, two scenarios could happen:

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
YES! But it's unlikely. I think super ignores garlic jr and links with the manga or kai. IDK the canon is crazy.

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
It didn't stop Kai Buu Saga from putting Hell filler, and have Oni talk about Goku "Hey, i remember this guy" So such minor detail shouldn't be a problemHellspawn28 wrote:I highly doubt it will happen. He didn't show up in Kai and most of the TV viewers will be like "Who the hell is this guy?!".

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
That's different then having a old character returning. Garlic Jr has not been relevant in 25 years in the anime and having him show out of nowhere would confuse people.

Re: Return of Garlic Jr. - Should it happen?
No I don't believe so because he'd just end up being a joke character in my opinion. He could have a son appear for revenge I guess? Rellik would be a cool name (killer backwards). The only filler character I'd love to see back is Pikkan honestly.
