Does anyone want to see King Kai fight?

Post by DragonBallFoodie » Sun Aug 07, 2016 4:59 am

He is a trainer, but it doesn't look like he's seen major combat. Then again, he is a Kaio (a god).

But I think it'd be nice to see the Kai get into a fight to see how they'd handle such a situation.

Even Master Roshi got to kick some butt once in a while, so maybe King Kai could get the same oppurtunity.
"Don't take pleasure in destruction!" / "I will not let you destroy my world!"
A true hero goes beyond not the limits of power, but the limits that divide countries and people.

You might be interested in playing the DS video game, Ultimate Butouden. You're able to fight as North Kaio.

If I remember correctly, there was a brief moment when he was able to show off his moves in a filler scene when the Ginyu Force came to his planet while Yamcha, Tenshinhan and Chiaotzu were there. It's hard to tell just how strong he is.

I was only partially interested when I first watched the series. There is also that one panel in the manga where King Kai slaps Goku away. But it was never on my "MUST SEE" list, and as the series moved on, me interested in seeing King Kai pull some moves lessened.

I'd like to see him using the kaio-ken :D

For some reason I can't imagine King Kai being all that lithe with his lower legs. He strikes me as being more of a defencive oriented fighter who parries and counter attacks like Zamasu.

I would guess like 2000-3000 as King Yemma was stronger than Raditz and Kaioh was stronger than Yemma but weaker than Nappa.
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147

It would be interesting to see him fight and use the techniques he taught Goku, but to me Kaio/King Kai is like the Yoda of the original Star Wars Trilogy. He's the wise master who doesn't fight and only passes on his knowledge to others who are worthy.

Well, in the original Z Anime, North Kaio stated that the Kaio-ken was a technique that he had never mastered himself. He created the concept and could use a non-multiplied version of it (so essentially, a "x1"), and taught that to Goku, then explained how in theory it could be used to multiply one's power. In one of the previous episode re-caps during those training episodes, it actually shows him briefly demonstrating it for Goku, and then the two of them fly around his planet along the road breaking through stone barriers together using the basic form. Kaio gets tired out from using it, but Goku continues on, and he is surprised that Goku is catching onto it so quickly.

One Panel in the manga has him knocking Goku away with his power early in their training sessions together. He also hurls a large brick at Goku to test the Genki Dama on in both versions I believe.

As for Kaio's battle power, it is 3,500 when Goku arrives on his planet the first time. He says the Saiyans are stronger than him, and Goku will have to surpass him by the end of his training if he's to stand a chance against Nappa and Vegeta.
"Of" =/= "Have"

Contractions:
-Should have = Should've
-Could have = Could've
-Would have = Would've

The heck does "should of" even mean anyway? Think about what those two words mean individually, and then try to read them back to back in a sentence and make sense of it. Are you forming a prepositional phrase, is "should" a part of a larger grouping, or are you just typing random words based on how you think you hear them used verbally? Perhaps take a moment to contemplate this, and see if it becomes as mind jarring for you to look at as it does for me..

Hell yeah. And they worst thing is that the Z filler teased up in seeing King Kai fight but we never did. Out of all the mentors of Goku, we've never really seen King Kai throw down in capacity and it's a damn shame, because I think his fights would be entertaining as hell.
