I want this arc to be Super long....
Like fourth great ninja war long minus the filler.
Someone hit me up when Krillin, Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu :lolno:, Goten, Buu, and Gohan :!: :!: :!: become relevant again :?

I want it to be long if it involves universe 7 has more than Goku and VEGETA competing. It should also be the last arc of Super.

I wish this were the case. But I hope you learned your lesson from the last tournament; don't expect much different in terms of who gets dominant fighting roles.

Even though it wouldn't happen I'd love for a block format similar to the prelims of the 21st-23rd WTs.

3 fighters from each universe (or however many it is to make no overlaps like Goku vs Piccolo or Hit vs Cabba)

Then the top fighter from each universe advances to the finals and a traditional tournament ensues.

How I would like for the tournament to be set up goes something like this: Teams of 3 (U7 - Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo; U6 - Hit, Cabba, Magetta). I think having 5 would be overkill for Toriyama to design and I don't see Beerus agreeing to take Buu and Monaka again and neither Champa taking Botamo and Frost.
As usual, the God of Destruction would be the coaches, appointing a team captain. Then we have random matches between the characters, with the team having the most wins advancing to the final. There would be no way for characters from the same universe to fight eachother.
Each team member would face an opponent from each universe and would continue fighting either if he wins or loses, as wins would count as points. The same participant, however, can't fight more than one guy from one universe.
If a participant is caught cheating, like Frost, not only would his win not count, but his team would lose one point.
The team with the most wins would advance to the final, where the captains of each team will fight eachother.
In case of a draw between the second and third places, there would be another captain on captain fight to decide who enters the final. I imagine Hit versus whatever the new big bad would be will take eachother on in this kind of set-up to see who will fight Goku and Hit would be taken out, surprising everybody.
The prize could be again a wish from the Super Dragon Balls, however the universes ranking in the last two places would get destroyed (just to create some tension).

I know this will make for a huge arc, but for a multiversal tournament I think it's fitting, especially if it turns out to be the last.

Goku wouldn't let two universes get destroyed.

I think it would be perfect this way:

12 Universes => 3 Fighters from each universe.
So, we can have 36 fighters.

In U7 => Goku, Vegeta and...??? I really don't know...e 3rd strongest fighter is a Sayajin too, but it would be nice if it was Piccolo (but he needs a huge UP) or Future Trunks...We don't need Monaka! Majin Boo doesn't want anything;

In U7 => Hitto, Cabe and someone who didn't show up in previous tournament (to have some mistery);

And for another universes, please, NO! Any sayajin of freeza race!

So, we would have fights like this (just one side)

I'd still prefer a randomised tournament to see the omniverse's greatest warrior rather than just the best universe.

Why do so many people expect we see 5000000 battles in this tournament? Have you seen the first Dragon Ball tournaments? Or the current Pokémon League? That is also how a tournament that started with many can be shown.

It is a universe vs universe tournament not individual tournament.

There is 12 universes so 4 get kicked out in the qualifying round so 8 remain. Then quarter final, semi final and final. That is the easiest way to do it.

Yeah, the main portion of the tournament will most likely be 7 fights. Four quarterfinals, two semifinals and the final. Before getting down to 8 fighters, there'll be preliminaries which will mostly be skipped. Larger finals than that are a headache to write, because a lot of the fights will be completely uninteresting to most people. Assuming that Goku, Vegeta and Hit are 3 of the finalists, it's possible to make 5 more interesting characters, but 13 or 29 are simply too many characters to be introduced to at once. That's most likely why every Tenkaichi Budokai has had relatively small finals, with Z Fighters taking a lot of the slots.

The way i proposed we could have 29 fights...But some fights could end very fast because for sure we will have some very week fighters...
But, come on...We are talking about multiversal tournament...It's way too big if you compare to anything we had before. And the best fighters from each universe we can limit to a single fighter from each universe...2 or 3 fighters would fit perfect (I'm sure Goku and Vegeta will participate, so we would have at least 2 fighters for each universe)!

So, in these 29 fights they can run fast at least 12 fights (for example Hitto beating some ordinary guy in a single hit...Or that fighter we know in first instance that he will be the one. This guy could end his fights with a single blow(maybe against a Cabe SSJ Blue to impress us...Goku and Vegeta first fights, etc)

Except it is not. That is the problem in people's thinking. We cannot expect that each universe has, lets say a random number, 100 participants. So less say like3-5. And what is that? That is probably less then people in Budokai Tenkaichi actually participate (and if not, then just a bit more) and we also do not see them. These universal bests are just the equivalent of "earth's best" again, which we also did not all see. Short preliminaries, sure, but not full fights of everyone.

I know. But this tournament will be the most hyped and important! It will be suported by Zen'o...The 12 Universes will participate...
I hope they put 3 fighters for each universe...We alredy know 3 of U7 and possibly 3 of U6...And maybe the U10 fighters in this saga. So they would show only 27 new fighters and 9 gods and 9 attendants (if they show now U10 god and his attendant).
I think it's a good number...Remember that filler tournament by Dai Kaioh Sama? They showed 13 new fighters...Some of them was really different! We saw some tiny guys, a frog, a fish, that oruga...The design was really nice. And, again, it was a filler!

I want it to be good, but judging off universe 6's tournament I think it'll fall flat in a LOT of ways. I'm keeping low expectations. I want good fighters but judging from when they did 5 they resorted to a FARTING robot....I doubt they can do 5. A lot of canon fodder and then they'll only be like 5-10 real new ones.
I hope it's better then I hope but I'm keeping expectations low personally.

Metal Man farted once, and you're still making a stink about it. (c what i did thar)

Seriously, stop complaining. You're of the small minority that didn't enjoy the characters and U6 tournament.

I disagree, I'm in the majority from what I've seen. And not complaining in the community leads to makers thinking they can get away with stuff, when we bitched about the animation they got aware we are mad. that's good.

I hope they at least make it the last and final Arc of Super, that way more effort will be placed into this tournament by the writers. I would like to see Majin Buu participate as well, he didn't get to last time for a stupid reason.

It's a good idea to keep your expectations low because it really was just a Goku and Vegeta show the last tourney for the U7 team.
