SSB Goku vs SSR Black seems like a final battle but I hope not.
The trio going was obvious, but i was expecting Bulma to go too.

Curious how everything will flesh out and how many fuel the Time Machine has.
Can FT Trunks travel to the Future, return to the present to leave Goku/Vegeta, and then finally go home?!
I wonder if everything will go smooth, or will this create a situation where Goku/Vegeta can't return.

Well they're having Trunks and Vegeta fight in tomorrows episode.

I doubt it will amount to anything. For whatever reason Toriyama seems to want Goku and Vegeta to be the only useful Z fighters in the show, so while I wish Trunks would be on their tier all he's probably gonna get is a short sparing match that makes him a little stronger. I wish it would be major but Super is all about disappointments.

I don't even see Vegeta fighting in this arc.

Super has flaws, but I don't personally see having too much Goku as one of them. The only thing that felt a little too blatant in giving Goku unneeded prominence was the whole ending to RF. And that's something you can blame on the fact that it was a movie first and probably didn't want to break the mold, like every other movie up until that point.

I see people saying it won't be fair if Goku gets to beat Black, but why would they introduce an evil Goku, if not to give him a personal connection to Goku and make it more satisfying when they eventually fight? Goku beating Black makes more sense than Goku beating Buu, or Goku beating Piccolo Daimao. Those were threats who didn't affect him directly (at first) or even care about who he was. Black definitely does.

Too much Goku means not enough time for the rest of the cast. Dragon ball before would never have been popular if it was like Super. Every scene has Goku in it, he does all the fighting and all the speaking. He does everything, can't you see that as the worst thing in this show. It is not hard to give something for other characters to do.

Didn't we had 72 episodes listed for the future home video release? I don't think the Future Trunks arc will end anytime soon. Episode 57 makes it sound like Goku will have some trouble against Goku Black. Maybe Goku and Vegeta will fuse against him for like one episode or two.

He might have been safe if he tagged with The Club. If their insurance was enough to protect from John Cena burials, it could have saved Gohan too. Or maybe he should partner with Bob Backlund as his manager and make a bunch of terrible Make Gohan Great Again Vignettes

what is the point of vegeta going if goku once again is going to be doing the fighting.

If I'm vegeta, i might take bulma and trunks to the future and rebuild it so vegeta can be the hero of that future while goku has his own future. Let them get permission from omni king to go back and forth and have them spar to gauge strength every once in a while.

I hope Vegeta just steps up and fights Black. It's odd he doesn't step forward and make sure he fights. He has more beef with Goku Black, and it's a rare opportunity where he can try and kill
"a" Goku when his character lately doesn't desire to do that with our Goku.

No way the final battle starts in ep 57. Either
A) Black beats Goku
B) Black escapes
C) Black dies and was a giant red herring, teasing the true villain

I really think C, Black/Zamasu with their current powers are super-weak for main villains. Hit from last arc would be able to 1-shot them a la Vegeta in the tourney.

A well thought of transformation i heard the ssg transformation was supposed to be way different and unique why not go that route?

As much as I thought the original SSG form was a let down, I at least thought it was a step in the right direction. The idea of simplifying everything made sense and eventually I came around to liking the form. SSB however and everything since has just been super lazy and more importantly not very exciting. I'm including Golden Frieza in this since it's just a recolor too. Honestly, they should just do more with the auras, I like the flames of SSG and the static-y blue aura of SSB, and someone mentioned having the eyes change color. I like the idea of filling them with a glow too, but the candy colors got to go.

I think they are building up to Zamasu being a major villain.

The opening sequence shows Zamasu falling backward with black leaves floating by. Maybe those are tea leaves?

Maybe Zamasu is green because he makes green tea, but when he turns evil he turns into Black and can only make black tea?

As for exactly how Zamasu relates to Black, that is still wild speculation, but my crackpot theory is that a causal loop has formed.

(Black appears on Earth in Future Trunks timeline and does shit) -> (Trunks travels to the past and to the Main timeline to get help) -> (Black appears in the Main Timeline for a moment, Whis recognizes his ki in part) -> (Whis, Beerus and Goku investigate Zamasu in Universe 10) -> (Zamasu is put off by Goku and starts hating mortals) -> (Zamasu finds out about the Time Rings) -> (Zamasu gets one Potarra from Gowasu) -> (Zamasu kills / fuses with Gowasu and takes the Time Rings) -> (He uses the Green ring which was created by Future Trunks traveling to the past in the Android arc. This transports him to Future Trunks' timeline) -> (He looks for Goku and somehow finds him and somehow turns into Goku Black) -> (Black appears on Earth in Future Trunks timeline and does shit)

As for how he changes from Zamasu to a Goku clone, that is unknown to me. One possibility is that he fuses with the dead Goku in Future Trunks' timeline. I think there is also definitely some psychological degradation, we are seeing Zamasu already in the first stages of turning bitter. Zamasu and Black share the same animosity toward mortals.

In short, because Future Trunks has run into trouble with Black, Goku indirectly causes Black to be born which gives Future Trunks trouble and causes him to travel back in time to ask for Goku's help which leads to Goku encountering Zamasu and indirectly causing Black to be created and that gives Future Trunks trouble and causes him to ... you get the idea, I hope.

The tricky thing is, this isn't as simple as a causal loop on a single timeline. But it's the same idea. A time traveler goes back in time, causes an accident that leads to his parents meeting and him being born.

55: Zeno tells Goku there's a Stable Time Loop now and Zamasu is going to become Black. Oh, no. They screwed up! But it doesn't matter if they beat Black.
56: Then they go to the future. Black cackles maniacally and says he has a new form.
57: But then Goku goes SSB and beats him.
58: Trunks thanks them for their help and they go back home.

(Or maybe the final fight lasts two episodes, meaning the arc ends on Episode 59 and we get a nice 12-episode arc that could have been resolved in half that time.)

I wouldn't be surprised, but I also would not get my hopes up for a long one. Keep your expectations low.

This is pretty much the worst possible scenario (not counting scenarios that obviously will not happen, such as Broly showing up). It'd be an "I expect nothing and I'm still disappointed" situation. I don't see this happening, though, as it'd be writing so awful that I don't think Toriyama is capable of it.
