Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Everyone who keeps harping on Bra not getting any comeuppance, she's not going to win the tournament.
You know that XXI guy? Well...things are probably going to take a turn for the worse. And characters like Bra, the really strong ones who look to be a lock? They're all a bunch of Vegetas--powerful characters who are bound to get their asses kicked by this mysterious villain. This is like Dragon Ball 101.

While deflecting it the way shes planning is a bad idea, she could always just clap catch it with her palms and throw it somewhere.

Herms wrote:The fact that the ridiculous power inflation is presented so earnestly makes me just roll my eyes and snicker. Like with Freeza, where he starts off over 10 times stronger than all his henchmen except Ginyu (because...well, just because), then we find out he can transform and get even more powerful, and then he reveals he can transform two more times, before finally coming out with the fact that he hasn't even been using anywhere near 50% of his power. Oh, and he can survive in the vacuum of space. All this stuff is just presented as the way Freeza is, without even an attempt at rationalizing it, yet the tone dictates we're supposed to take all this silly grasping at straws as thrilling danger. So I guess I don't really take the power inflation in the Boo arc seriously, but I don't take the power inflation in earlier arcs seriously either, so there's no net loss of seriousness. I think a silly story presented as serious is harder to accept than a silly story presented as silly.

I wonder why eating a senzu doesn't hurt Bra's pride
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Sigh. I don't believe for a second that all these guest star artists and none of them won't do U9. I'm sure this is all done on commission, its not as if paying for a Saiyan centric comic is going to cost less than a human centric comic. And not just U9. Still want to know how U3's Piccolo Daimao escaped, still want to see how Gast Deals with U7 Cell and Buu, want to see how Effed up the Majin Buu Saga could have been in U11. We might as well get something on kat's gang right? And I suppose the fight between U17 Cell and U17 Androids. And there's all kinds of implications from having evil universes of villains meeting others. Not all of them can be written off like Broly was, right? Tell those stories, not the same stuff we've been getting for years.DBM.com wrote: The next special chapter will be about universe 16, and begins on Sunday 21th.
It's drawn by Charlotte (see chapter 34 on U16) and by Yura Kim (see minicomic 68-70 on Broly) and will also be in colors by Homola Gábor!
We all have a lot of work these days, so this chapter will be released at two pages per week (Wednesday and Sunday).
We'll do our best to add updates on Friday when possible (minicomic of bonus cover!)
We count on you to be nice with the authors and the team, who do their best.. continuing working in the background at all time.
Good reading!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Hey guys. Some of you are probably aware that me and LittleNeko27 are doing an audio drama adaptation of Dragon Ball Multiverse. If so, you might also know that me and her are also touching up the dialogue to sound more natural in English. Now, neither of us know French, so most of our revisions just involve rewriting the more awkward lines into ones that read better. But for SOME passages, like the one below...

There's some actual translation work required; for example, that phrase "You're honest with me now...I will be honest with you too" seems to be an overly literal translation of "Te voilà honnête, je vais en faire autant, avança Coola en se relevant, et te montrer ma véritable force!". In THIS specific context, it actually translates into something more like "Now you are being fair. Now I will be fair too...and show MY true power!" This is because "honnête" doesn't JUST mean honest...it can also mean "noble", or "fair", or "on-the-level".
So basically, Cooler is implying that Trunks WASN'T playing fairly before he put down the sword; he was (supposedly) artificially enhancing his power beyond his normal limits by using the sword. Trunks was, therefore, playing dirty. But now, by putting the sword down, Trunks is playing fair and square! And then Cooler is being "fair" by choosing not to hide his true form any longer.
The problem though is that said assertion was not stated directly. It was being implied with an exclusively French figure-of-speech, which is why this translation missed those nuances. The panel, therefore, should look something like THIS instead...

But, as you can see...the font I'm using is a bit larger than what's being used in the first panel. So what I'm wondering is, "does anyone know what font DBM uses"? That way, if I decide to do a "translation tidbits" thread or whatever, I can post side-by-side comparisons of how the script is probably SUPPOSED to read. Thank you so much, and God bless you all!

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse

Bullshit. Fuck this Kienzan nerfing. The thing has one special property. If that property can be nullified then it's useless. It'd be nice to have one attack in Dragon Ball that works regardless of raw power.

BS!!!!
Dragon Ball was always a kid series and fans should stop being in denial.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Cool, she use Sauza blade. If she used it to nullify Kienzan, i don't have problem with it, Kienzan is made of energy, so energy sword should be able to counter it

Starting 21th August, we wil have Universe 16 special, with will be updated only on Wednesday and Sunday

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Even though the Kienzan cut of Freeza's tail. When Freeza was hundreds of times stronger than Krillin. It's not like the other attacks. You can't just deflect it. But I'm not even mad. Bra is special. She's spectacular. She's the savviest saiyan ever. Good for her. Super. She's suuuper.coola wrote:Cool, she use Sauza blade. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I think she didn't deflected it, but rather used energy sword to destroy it, Bra should be stronger than Cold thanks to zenkai, plus...multiplied Kienzan is probably weaker than just single one. And i don't think she is that special, she is just Saiyan, almost every Saiyan is arrogant jerk with unfair advantage (Zenkai comes to mind)
Speaking of actual DBM Mary Sue,, she is supposed to enter dreams, did Salagir borrowed that idea from awesome OVA series from 80's, Dream Hunter Rem?

I think that's supposed to be Vegetto's ki sword technique(Spirit Sword in Budokai 2 and 3 IIRC).coola wrote:Cool, she use Sauza blade.

Make sense, and it's better than using her bare hands which would otherwise be complete BS.dbgtFO wrote:I think that's supposed to be Vegetto's ki sword technique(Spirit Sword in Budokai 2 and 3 IIRC).coola wrote:Cool, she use Sauza blade.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Yeah. I was actually going to cry foul at first, just because I thought she was ripping off Sauza's move (which would have been a very Mary Sue-esque trait; using techniques that are normally exclusive to one specific, already established character)...dbgtFO wrote:The font they use is listed in the FAQ on the site under "Comic Making":

But then dbgtFO posted, and I remembered "Oh yeah, Vegetto DID have something like that too! She's his daughter, so obviously he'd have taught her that too"! Nice how these things work out, huh?
