Well that's bullshit

Is it just me or does Cold's form make some panels hard to look at? His overly detailed form makes images hard to interpret for me.

Looks like a variant of Babidi's attack:

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
You know, I read about this on another site and I didn't believed it. I thought it would make more sense once I see the panel. Nope, I was so wrong…
Okay, making a solid After Image never seen in Dragon Ball by no one, not even filler, is out there, but I was willing to give it a pass as a more advance version of the technique. That she can make a solid After Image that turns to goo when hint, stick the opponent, and weight them down……what….
That's just BS. It reminds me of one of the techniques from the Shadow Dragons, the one with the lightning power that can regenerate from goo. Seriously, are they even trying even more. First the senuz, not this? I am beginning to think Bra exists to troll everyone.
And let's put this with all the other rare and unique techniques she has. I still call bull on her knowing the version of Instant Transmission that allows you to teleport anywhere, which has only been used by Kibitio, the Supreme Kai after he fused Kibitio, and Kid Buu. Goku doesn't even know that version of Instant Transmission, and he's friends with the Supreme Kai. Hell, not even Beerus or Whis knows it. I probably wouldn't be so bitter about this if this was the only broken technique she knew.

Bra knows magic techniques now. Bet Vegetto wishes he knew that stuff.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I would bet money that Vegetto knows this technique. I mean, she copies everyone else from him, including Kai exclusive techniques.Regarder wrote:Bra knows magic techniques now. Bet Vegetto wishes he knew that stuff.

Vegito likely taught Bra everything she knows like a Master would usually do with an apprintce.
Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Gotenks can do a technique that literally creates sentient beings from his lungs that seem to be made of solid floating goo that explodes on contact...
But Bra, the daughter of Vegetto, being able to create goo that attaches itself to the opponent to weight him down is bullshit...
I guess that just more punching and ki beams would be better for some instead of actual different techniques?

That wouldn't be a problem, if we ever saw Vegetto used these techniques or it had some foreshadow in some way. This literally come out of nowhere.miguelnuva1 wrote:Vegito likely taught Bra everything she knows like a Master would usually do with an apprintce.

Man, you must have hated Buu. He was stronger than everyone else, had techniques no one else had, had overpowered regeneration with no consequences, came out of nowhere, and got to beat up on established characters the whole arc.HeroR wrote:That wouldn't be a problem, if we ever saw Vegetto used these techniques or it had some foreshadow in some way. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
We saw Gotenks do much weirder techniques like the kamikaze ghosts in which Gotenks literally creates sentient beings. Vegetto himself, in the manga, when Buu used it, called that technique clumsy or something akin to that, implying that he could do a much better job. And Vegetto has existed for many years in universe 16.HeroR wrote:That wouldn't be a problem, if we ever saw Vegetto used these techniques or it had some foreshadow in some way. Coming out of nowhere, when we literally saw weirder techniques coming out of nowhere with just a day of training (Gotenks and his kamikaze ghosts), seems to be a problem only because it's Bra doing it and because fan mangas are very scrutinized when they introduce original stuff.
Introducing techniques is much better than just "stronger, bigger Ki beams".

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I'm not even a big fan of Gotenks's weird nonsense but at least there the fusion dance itself is essentially magic. Vegetto is a completely different fusion and never demonstrated any kind of techniques that aren't within the boundaries of standard Ki attacks. This here looks exactly like Sub-Zero's ice clone from Mortal Kombat. Where the hell did that come from? If Salagir wanted to give Bra magical shit then he should have had Buu grant it to her while he was screwing around with the competitors. I'm fine with new attacks but there are parameters that need to be respected when telling a story. If you want a character to spontaneously pull out a seemingly magical non-Ki style technique you first have to establish that doing so is within their capacity to begin with.

Tenshinhan can grow multiple arms and split into multiple copies of himself. How is this any different?TonyTheTiger wrote:I'm not even a big fan of Gotenks's weird nonsense but at least there the fusion dance itself is essentially magic. Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Tenshinhan was established as being able to do fanciful stuff. Again, it's all about setting parameters. If Vegeta comes up with a new Ki attack then that's no big deal because we know he can do things like that. But if Vegeta spontaneously starts breathing fire then that would not be appropriate without explaining why he can suddenly do something like that. There's nothing wrong with Bra busting out a new attack. The problem is that it doesn't look like the type of attack a Saiyan should be able to do.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Why not? Goku makes afterimages all the time, Gotenks makes solid sentient objects at will, why is this so much more unbelievable? I mean, Piccolo just randomly showed the ability to zap clothes onto people in the Saiyan Arc. Is that crazy too? Guldo can freeze time. Does that "look" like an ability a little green frog guy should have? Buu literally shows up out of nowhere ("Oh by the way, there's been an evil demon monster sealed underground on your planet for centuries, can you help me out with that k thanks bye), and starts one-upping everyone in the series.TonyTheTiger wrote:Tenshinhan was established as being able to do fanciful stuff. Why is Bra's technique so out there that it's just unacceptable? And let's not act like it started here. A bunch of you were saying the same thing when she was using Vegetto's established technique a few pages ago.
While rereboy goes hilariously far in white knighting this fanmanga, I'm having to agree with him here. This is just complaining either for the sake of complaining, or because people just don't like Bra.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
I suppose that from another's perspective it may really look like I'm white knighting, but everything I said was, imo, logical and in regards to the original manga.Kamiccolo9 wrote:

My perspective is the following: I judge this fan manga by fan manga standards (because that's what it is) and since it has been pretty good for those standards, I simply haven't found just cause to criticize its elements often (or much), even though I have already criticized some stuff about the manga in this topic.
Consequently, I find off-putting and kind of funny all the negativity towards this fan manga, with many seemingly forgetting that it is a fan manga and also seemingly forgetting how stuff was in the original manga (like, case in point, Gotenks coming out of nowhere with a technique to create sentient ghosts), or just being unfair, which is why many of my posts are about pointing that out. That's all.

It's not described as magic in the guidebooks, but even if it was, that doesn't make Gotenks a fucking magician.TonyTheTiger wrote:I'm not even a big fan of Gotenks's weird nonsense but at least there the fusion dance itself is essentially magic.
Bra's advanced techniques are as much BS as Gotenks' advanced techniques.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.
Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

Between this and the on-site comment threads, it really is amazing how much needless bitching can drag down the commentary on a story.
How about watch how things get explained and played out? Maybe respect the unpaid fan authors a little?
Maybe worry more about the official series ongoing?
If you have enough time to whine about a fan-manga character, you probably have enough time to do literally anything else.
I'm just...Saiyan.

Re: Fanmanga - DB Multiverse
Well, that's kind of part of my point. Dragon Ball does stupid ass things sometimes. I don't think that necessarily makes it ok for DBM to do it, too. If something is stupid I'm going to call it stupid regardless of the source.DBZGTKOSDH wrote:It's not described as magic in the guidebooks, but even if it was, that doesn't make Gotenks a fucking magician.TonyTheTiger wrote:I'm not even a big fan of Gotenks's weird nonsense but at least there the fusion dance itself is essentially magic.
