Super's future.

Imp Zeno will want to see Goku to discuss the future of the tournament.

Maybe Zeno will congratulate him for the Champa tournament and tell him to go to other universes and seek strong opponents.
However, Goku will tell him to wait till the whole Black incident is over and of course Zeno will reply in his Togepi voice "ya dude take your time".
After that we will finally have the Toriyama version of the grand tour with Goku travelling between universes to find strong opponents and at the same time helping people.
If my theory is correct then I can easily see Super continuing for at least 100+ more episodes. With an average of 10-12 episodes per universe and many more adventures.
The only difference between GT and S is that thanks to Whis, Goku can return back to universe 7 when needed. This also will allow the rest of the group to have adventures and defend the earth while Goku and Vegeta are away.

2020 are the Olympics in Japan so maybe they have plans to do more

Did GT really flop? It's hard to believe anything negative on GT with how biased people are in the community at times, especially against GT.

Either way GT was the perfect ending IMO. But man was it too short.

Like others have said, it would've gone on for as long as possible if they were making $$$ and after it ended there was little to no merchandise being made for the franchise for 5 years so it's safe to say it flopped.

I think it would've been a lot more successful if it didn't start as bad as it did cause once they got to Baby things picked up but that was 20+ episodes later which was obviously too late.

One thing I like about the ending is Goku remembering the adventures he had so hopefully we'll get something similar with him and Vegeta discussing everything they went through from the Saiyan arc till the end of the universal tournament.

In regards to Super's future, does anyone think Toriyama will continue with the original ending of Z or will they change it completely?

I think it's a case of cross that bridge when we get there moment for them. In my opinion they should ignore EoZ and let Super naturally progress (which may very well be what they're doing since Bra was supposed to be born now).

Anyway, at a given point, I think they had to do a greater jump away from continuity and have a new generation of characters. That kind of self-quoting and self-contained arcs risk to become boring in the long run. Thanks to Xenoverse, Heroes and Fusions, Toei/Bandai shown that people will accept side stories and new main characters in the same setting. Maybe this is the future of Dragon Ball (and not strictly SUPER future...).

They dropped that ball with Gohan in the Buu saga. Now it's too late, I don't believe fans would accept a new generation taking over even with the full involvement of Toriyama...which wouldn't happen anyway.
Alas, "Son's bizarre adventures" could have been cool...

There's no need for a direct parentship or heritage.
They could simply switch to other characters in training, a kinda reboot.
Those games are well received even if direct continuity is dropped.

I don't know how long I think is it going to last, all we know it's more than 72 episodes based on the DVD releases. I think there will be maybe 2 or 3 arcs after this (including the Multiverse arc), then it will be finished. While there's a lot they could do with the story, there's also a lot they could mess up. Hopefully I'm wrong and they come out with something awesome, but honestly I am not expecting much.
