I mean, honestly? TIME BREAKER YAMCHA? Why? ... Anyhow, I am more than interested in what else those scans say. I shall patiently wait for a translation.

Hercule is much, much more overrated.

And that contraicts my point? We have little to no knowledge of how they will handle Bardock in the game aside from it being simmilar to his role in heroes.
I said there could be a possibility of the future warrior being powerful at that time. I could be wrong.
The Future Warrior's power is whatever the plot needs it to be at the time, every cutscene fighting him will most likly have you in base form.

I'm well aware of that. We'll see where it goes, but he's guaranteed to have a bigger more sympathetic part, which ruins the character. The whole thing that made Bardock so great was that you're challenged to sympathize with a lesser evil than Freeza. He's a horrible, terrible person, and yet he makes you forget that when going up against something worse. He should not be a hero in any regard.

Power levels establish tension and drama. People who care about them (well, people who care about them in a narrative) don't care about the big numbers or the fancy explosions. If you have character A who's so much above character B, who's the main character, you're gonna be left wondering how in the hell character B, the character we're supposed to care and root for, is going to escape the situation or overcome the odds. It makes us emotionally invested.
If character B doesn't escape the situation in a believable way that's consistent with previous events, then that emotional investment is gone. It was pointless tension, pointless drama made just to suck in the viewer. It has no critical value whatsoever. The audience is left believing that the author can just create whatever scenarios he wants and what happens to the characters is decided by whatever the author wants to happen, regardless of the events that happened in the story. Which, in fairness, is what happens, but the audience wants to be fooled. The audience wants to know that the world they're following has rules. That the world they're invested in isn't going to bend to external factors that are irrelevant to them.
An author can do whatever he wants with the characters, that's not false. But the author should also have the responsibility to make sure it fits in cohesively with the other events in the narrative he has created.

Same can be said for Dark Broly too you know. I hate the wanking he gets just like most folks here, but don't forget, the magazine's just over exaggerating as he isn't the main villain. Hell, he probably will get a role that's purposeful just like Bardock and all the others.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, as pathetic as Yamcha is, I'm glad he's getting a big role. Him having white hair makes him look very cool and evil.

Not really, you remember when Vegeta was one of the 'good' guys before he thoguht "You know, maybe I shouldn't be a genocidal maniac". It would be pretty easy for Bardock to fight on the time patroller's side while still being a dick, his motivation will probably be along the lines of ''I'm a saiyan, a powerful arrior raised to be feared. I 'M NOT AND NEVER WILL BE A SLAVE!".
Also, onto Dragonball Online. From what I heard Bardock actually isn't that strong in it. When you first fight him in a group battle, he easily shrugs off the fight and escapes; because during that point all the players were children. Then the next time you face him on your own, you kick his ass.

The last thing we've seen him as portrayed is incredibly sympathetic. Need I mention Episode of Bardock? His evil is only from being controlled, not because he's a bad guy. He then HELPS the good guys afterwards in online if we want to be frank. He's not been cold in a long time. He's a special snow flake who's more overrated than Broly in today's world. Broly's role is just punching his face in, so who really gives a shit. Not much character to ruin when he doesn't have much of one. Bardock is super special awesome dad, who sends his boy away from the meanies. Yes that guy is gonna be portrayed as a cold killer.

And we've seen no evidence that he will be sympathetic, even in Episode of Bardock he wasn't sympathetic, he was just uncharacteristicaly heroic. I can't comment on what happened in online since the only versions available are barley translated, but helping the good guys for revenges sake is his most likly motivation. Him being a bastard before hasn't been changed.

Yes he was. He grows man crushes to a bunch aliens for no good reason. Fucking TFS of all people portray Bardock more like himself than that shit did. The guy was so cold he didn't give a single fuck about Goku. Was a worthless piece of shit for being so weak. The only time he gave a shit was because of his vision that he would face Freeza. Instead he's a special daddy Bar-El who needs to save Goku from the mean ol Freezie Pop, and come find his loving boy when all is said and done.
Least Broly remains what he is, even if unappealing to some. Who gives a shit if he's powerful when you punch his lights out as the goal. Whatever. Least what makes him appealing to some remains. Bardock just becomes a worse character over time, and a more special super awesome dude.

By now this discussion has shifted from Bardock's role in XV2 to Bardock's personality in EOB. Care to move it to another thread so as to get this one back on topic?

You need to move on, untie yourself from the past, from a TV Special made by Toei Animation. Broly remains what he is because he was made by Toei and never got touched by Toriyama, now please... Move on.

I know a lot of people still believe that Broly's power increases indefinitely and that a lot of people have him as their favourite villain and all, but... it's bordering on spreading misinformation at this point.
