Technically we did.

Wouldn't it make sense to say that if Freeza's True form is only about Cell Saga SSJ2 that Goku's Base now a days could be the same? I mean if we're under the impression that his base is indeed SSG itself then he'd stomped Freeza and there would have been no need to go SSJB agaisn't Golden Freeza, or at least he'd fought in Base a little before pulling out SSJB against Golden Freeza.

The manga doesn't matter nor is it canon, it's just an adaptation and most of the time not an accurate one either.

Technically we didn't, Not in the promotional continuity.
It was skipped over in the rebooted manga series continuity. The RoF manga is technically for the movies and not the Super continuity.

Toyotaro really needs to revisit the "F" arc but it doesn't make sense business wise until the series/manga officially ends.

Onto the point about why beerus would't interfear with Buu slaughtering the Kais:
  • Maybe Beerus and Whis didn't actually knwo what was happening until it was too late.
Maybe Whis heard of what was happening, but wrongly in assuming that Elder Kai would count when in actuality the link was severed when he was sealed.
Plus, when Whis saids that Beerus is most likely dead in Trunks's timeline, he is only speculating. Considering we had the whole butterfly effect explanation, Whis assumes that Trunks's timeline split could of changed Elder Kai's fate.

God so many people sleep on Dragon Balls fight choreography, probably because of Toei's horrendous pacing, overuses of Ki spam and repeated frames.

Also Goku using Kamahamaha with his feet as a form of jet propulsion during his fight with Piccolo at the 23rd Tenkaichi Budokai, god I hope Toyotaro brings that back.
Yeah, Toriyamas awesome. He is better than Toyotaro after all. Still, the difference is much smaller than some people would suggest imo.

I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

Toyotarou's "F" adaptation was completed prior to the announcement of Super -- certainly prior to him learning anything about the Universe 6 arc and its reintroduction of Super Saiyan -- and has never been marketed as part of the Super promotional manga.

I don't know if he lucked out or would have known in time to change it had he been asked to do another adaptation, but I think it's highly likely he wouldn't include base Goku vs. Freeza were he to cover the arc now.

I'm dying laughing right now because it looks like a bunch of the one basers from here are gathered on other forums trashing the manga and Toyotaro right now!!! Lol just take the L gracefully rather than ragging on someone 100x more talented than all of us, sheesh.

What makes this even more hilarious is that they are talking about how Toyotaro is going against Toriyama and that he wouldn't approve and this is why you don't let fanfic people do official works... Geez.

From what we are told the manga is the only thing Toriyama is personally approving so if anything it's closer to his new version the movies or the anime.

Toyotaro might be a more talented artist than us, but a talented story writer? No way in heck. The guy put Xicor in Dragonball AF after all.

Also, don't we already have an instance of a Super Saiyan 2 being stronger then a Super Saiyan 3 back in BOG?

I'm not a fan of his body of work in general but he's done as good as job as any person adapting and recreating Toriyamas work in this series. Better than a team or writers and artist I might add. His ability to close plot holes and provide exposition explicit or subtly is far above the anime by a wide margin where it isn't even close.

Trunks was at SS3 Goku's level.
James Teal (Animerica 1996) wrote:When you think about it, there are a number of similarities between the Chinese-inspired Son Goku and that most American of superhero icons, Superman. Both are aliens sent to Earth shortly after birth to escape the destruction of their homeworlds; both possess super-strength, flight, super-speed, heightened senses and the ability to cast energy blasts. But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

That doesn't contradict the fact that Goku needed SSG to beat Trunks.

Black getting a Super Saiyan Flower boost from his Base which is well above SS3 level is scary.

He didn't need SSG to win, he needed SSG to one shot Trunks.

Well i must say i am quite dissapointed by this "new" turn of events.
Why?
Because it excludes Old Kaioshin! Fucking everything up again! Now we're back to the problem that started it all. They assume Beerus died. And our saviour manga panel about the flashback to the kaioshins was apparantly a hoax. What a darn shame.
Why does everything has to be a hoax nowadays? Well i guess it's because "nowadays" already sums it up. Internet is full of hoaxes. Unfortunately.

On a side note you didn't really need to mention all the anime counterpart events compared to the manga. (We all know what happened) and that makes the read unneccesarily complicated.
That being said i fully appreciate you taking the time to translate it. And thank you for that.
