People who want a CC2 DragonBall game will be upset when the combat is reduced to spamming the circle button. The only thing CC2 has over Dimps or Spike is that their games look almost identical to the respective show.

And honestly, that's it.
Dragon Ball /Z/GT/Super is a children's show and there's nothing wrong with that.

The fast part I understand have I'm sure you've seen how quick he gathers ki to do it in both movies. I'm sure come time for the game to release that it will be less powerful. On a side note after reading up on the recent developer interview it seems that the DLC will be a mix of probably Super, Movies and Forms/missing characters but all stuff except for Super that could have been added in. I believe it was DevilsCorpse that said he doesn't want to pay for forms that should have been in and that is how I would feel. I pre-ordered the Deluxe Version and knowing this it kind of takes away joy from that.
Remember, we're getting free updates along side DLC. The interview never saids that requested characters will be apart of DLC.
I think it is just my thinking of how screwed up DLC can be that makes me think that they won't give us free characters. I would like to believe that but I blame Capcom for ruining my image of free updates and DLC.

More information on the online modes:
Parallel Quest and Online Modes
There will be more to do in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 than just flying around Conton City!

Parallel Quests

Parallel Quests allow you to replay key events from the Dragon Ball Timeline with different conditions and characters. When you complete these quests you will be rewarded with items, skills and much more!

The game will include new Parallel Quests and remastered quests from the previous game. In total, we will double the amount of quests available for Time Patrollers!


New Modes on the online VS

Following our fans’ feedback on the original Dragon Ball Xenoverse, two new modes will be included in the VS mode:

Endless: Fight until you can’t fight anymore! This mode allows you to remove the battle timer, and fight until the best fighter wins!

No-level matches: Tired of being too powerful for your opponents? Want to test your true skills? You will now be able to choose to play without any stats. Everyone will be on the same level, only the best will win!

We hope you are as excited as we are about the new features of the game! Come back soon for more news on Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2!

I really like the sound of this. However, it's not too different from how things already were, right? Victory is usually dependent on how well your opponent understands the metagame. Well, it's something if it improves the pacing of how long a match can last.

This is way off-topic, but why does everyone complain about characters playing the same in Tenkaichi, yet I personally see no difference in Budokai (granted, I am an amateur)? It's Xenoverse that has all the different combos.

THe only character I ever thought played differently in Budokai were the large ones, but thats just because they hit hard and are a bitch to dodge.

This. They all played the same in Budokai as well. Xenoverse is the first game in DB history that the characters strings come straight from the anime.

Arched and I realized this some time ago! It's really exciting to see what they grab to put in each characters combo set. From what we've seen, XV2 is continuing with this in full throttle.

But yeah, 16 and Cooler's move set look really satisfying to pull off. Though I;m pretty sure that Cooler's arial knee thing seems to be hitting the air, and not the opponents gut.

It looks like Cooler's comboset was made with his 5th form in mind (all of the combos seem to be based on stuff he did in that form). They probably just made 4th form Cooler a clone since he didn't do much. That Knee attack might look better when used by 5th form.

Oof course he'll be in the game, eh's been in trilers and screen shots. Plus, the devs state that every chacter, clothing and attack of the last game will be in the base game of Xenoverse 2, including DLC.

The only tim I've complained about Tenkaichi characters feelng the same is really only in response to people yelling to get as big a character roster. "See, Tenkaichi has over a hundred characters!" "AND THEY ALL PLAY THE SAME!"

There needs to be a balance. In a game like Dragon Ball, people want to play as their favorite character. If people want to play as Semi-Perfect Cell, they want to play as that character and really don't care if he plays the same as Perfect Cell. Just as people who wants to play as King Vegeta won't care if he plays similar to Vegeta. People want fan-service, not necessarily a deep fighting game.

At the same time, Dimps and many fans do want a deep fighting game and are willing to sacrifice characters and transformations for balance. So to them, losing Semi-Perfect Cell or a few of the Freeza forms isn't a big deal if you can make the forms you do have unique.

Neither side is wrong, they just have different preference. To make a 'perfect' Dragon Ball game, it needs both sides of this argument.

Good point. I enjoy both types of games, but I lean towards fanservice type. To add to your point, a game of the type aforementioned could be deep, but no deeper for one character than the next, if that makes sense.
