You never know Funimation may release a "Special Edition" Blu-Ray of Resurrection F with this segment dubbed and subbed because we all know how they love milking the home releases.mikezilla2 wrote:lol in other words this probably wont end up in the west unless its a tv extra not what i was hoping to see at all
Or it may be included as a bonus disc on the Super Resurrection F arc home release.

Great song. That moment had great pacing and the music was spot on.Naruto6583 wrote:Here you go! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VMKdDzRXtAMint Pepper wrote:So where can I find that orchestrated opening when goku arrived? It was pretty rad

Re: "Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing
Here's my comparison and analysis of a few shots between Z (Kai) and the new animation in the new version of RoF. This is mostly a stylistic discussion:

This was the closest I could match shots. I don't know if Z had the same shot and Kai cut it out, or this is how the original anime adapted this shot.
Anyway, I hate how closely the RoF shot adheres to Yamamuro's designs, because the nose is way to big and round, his face bubbly and his hair is too high up on his head. His head is also too large in all of these shots, which isn't accurate to Yamamuro's design or Toriyama's art of this era.

The Z shot may be by Shindo, who's style deviated more than usual from Toriyama's, but as a drawing and stylistically, I prefer it over the RoF shot because of a few reasons. For one, the RoF shot's chin is too far back compared to his forehead, which makes his head look like it's either leaning or that his chin's sunken in, and the smaller pupils and larger eyes in the Z shot make it much more expressive and intense. In RoF, Vegeta looks like he's just kind of surprised, and like his jaw is just hanging, rather than being shocked like in Z. Also, the effects add to the scene, whereas the RoF shot has none.

Again, the roundness, big chubby nose and thin neck are my problems here. Also, the angle in the Z shot seems a little more upward and dynamic.

In RoF, Vegeta just looks like he's angry and tears happen to be coming out of his eyes. In Z, the way his brow is furrowed and his lips are drawn make him look like he's actually crying. It may be a Last House drawing (I don't know if it's by Uchiyama or not), but it's way more expressive.

Here the RoF actually looks way better than the Z shot, which is from Last House (though it looks pretty good. I don't know if it's Uchiyama), but it doesn't animate as well, since it's just a panning shot. In Z, much more happens: That muscle flexing animation is very nice!

This shot is drawn about equally well in both versions, but I prefer the blood and coloring in Z. The muscles are a bit more cleanly drawn in RoF though, but his forearms are a bit too thin.
I think much of the actual animation during Goku's fight with Freeza in RoF is an improvement, mostly during the parts that Takeuchi animated, because his cuts in that fight were very rough, and seemed like some essential in between frames were never animated, such as when Freeza chops Goku's neck, which was a single frame in Z, and was way more elaborate in RoF.

Great analysis. I personally thought that most of the fight with Freeza in the original is better than the Rof version, but only until Goku went super saiyan. Then, the new footage got a lot better than the old imo.Metalwario64 wrote:Here's my comparison and analyses of a few shots between Z (Kai) and the new animation in the new version of RoF. Re: "Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing
Yeah, it seems that much love was put into the Super Saiyan portion of that fight in RoF. I think the Super Saiyan transformation is cool because it adheres to the manga, but I hate Freeza's bouncy facial reaction to it in RoF. I think it's mostly because it's coupled with Yamamuro's bubbly face.
I also forgot to mention that I also prefer Z's "Kuririn no kotoka!!!!?" because of how dynamic it is. It's cool to see that RoF followed the manga, but it's just a still panning shot like the "I am angry Freeza!!" shot.

Re: "Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing
That's main problem with Yamamuro. If he were to get rid of all the highlights and shade in a more natural way, his characters wouldn't look so jarring wand weird all the time.
Re: "Resurrection 'F'" Receiving New Trunks Material in Fuji TV Airing
The colors and lines are so much better in the Kai version. And I absolutely hate the way Vegeta looks in the RoF part.
Aside from that, the modern one is obviously better when it comes to the fight scenes.
